This thread might fit better in the Chastity Devices section, but since it isn’t strictly about a device itself, I chose to post it here. I picked up one of those MasterLock lock boxes (shown in the picture). Last night while we were getting ready for some fun, my wife couldn’t get the box open. She asked me to try, and I struggled too. Anyway, long story short: I tried again today, and surprise! It finally opened; it just needed a firmer tug on the latch. Just wanted to share this warning that the latches on these boxes can be quite tricky. Make sure you let your KHs know… kind of ruined our mood:(

You should have her wear the key!;)

Principally, you're right - I also find it incredibly hot (look at your avatar pic as an example). But in practice, because we use the security screw on our MM QK, the "key" isn't very pretty to wear around the neck. Also, and unfortunately so, I don't think my wife/KH would enjoy wearing a key there. If she were willing to wear such a key, maybe I'd consider a different style of lock-box. Maybe (a homemade) one that is secured with a padlock and the torx bit for the security screw could stay inside this (padlocked) box. No combination code my KH needs to remember; and she can carry the key (for the padlock).

I use that same box with no issues regarding the latch. Were your dials set correctly (or perhaps just slightly off)?

I recall using one of those boxes once to access a customer location. I'm not certain if it was that specific model but it looked very much like it. There was a particular method you had to use; if you didn't do it right, it was hard or even impossible to either open or close. Sorry, I can't recall exactly what the trick is/was, but once I learned it, it became quite easy. -A

When we began this period, I bought one of those based on Chatelaines' recommendation but returned it because it was too bulky for her taste. For me, a keysafe enhances the WSD aspect since I've found myself locating the spare key several times without even looking for it. Plus, I could take the key off her at any moment if things got heated. If it were inside a properly secured box, both of those conveniences would be lost. I'll also admit to anyone that seeing the only important key being fiddled with by a strong-willed woman is nothing short of hotter.

When we decided on a custom device, one reason Steelworxx appealed to us was their integrated lock design. I wanted my wife to have a genuine key rather than just a screwdriver-like tool. And I preferred something with a lower profile compared to a padlock. Most of the time she keeps the key in her purse and will continue doing so once our new device arrives.

That works well because the key for the Steelworxx lock isn't exactly a beauty queen either. My wife has a decorative/symbolic key that she wears sometimes. It suits us fine. -A
