New Profile Entry

I have a query for the admins. Could we introduce another element to the profile area that displays within posts? I’m suggesting adding “Present Device” along with perhaps: “Device History.” This thought struck me while reading through posts where someone mentioned their device. I recall seeing them state what they owned before, but it slipped my mind initially. After checking a few other entries, I managed to locate it. Keeping this info would also be useful when users describe an issue without mentioning which device is involved. It seems the same inquiry pops up often as helpers ask; “What type of device are you using?” A “Device History” section would similarly give us an immediate sense of their breadth of experience. If implemented, please ensure there’s ample room for Thumper.

We are considering it. It seems like a solid concept to me, though we need to avoid going *too* granular. For instance, listing every single device alongside a rating might be excessive. That said, until we determine the best approach (if any), why not simply update your profile and include a list in your signature? A quick note of caution regarding that: Let's keep long lists and images out of signatures for now. Just provide a summary of what you own versus what is currently active. I would dislike to see posts with more text in their sigs than in the actual post content. Edit: I just added something to my sig to test how it appears.
