Advice on Sizing the Length of a Steel Chastity Cage

I’m sizing up for my first steel chastity device, probably a Jailbird, and I need some tips on getting the cage length right. Over the past few days, I’ve taken measurements at different times of day. My average is around 2 3/4 inches, with lows of 2 1/2 and highs of 3. I’m leaning toward either a 2 1/4 or 2 1/2-inch length but haven’t decided if it’s better to go slightly larger or smaller. Ideally, my penis should look properly accommodated in the cage rather than looking cramped or undersized. I’d value any insights from people who have measured for steel devices.

It's better to go with a shorter length than a longer one. You'll be surprised at how quickly you adjust. Based on your numbers, a 2 1/4-inch cage should work well for you. When it comes to an MM-style cage, the key is measuring the underside length from the bottom of the scrotum up to the tip.

You need to leave a bit of breathing room for when you get semi-erections (and they will happen!). My advice is to pick the length that matches your average measurement. This should give you about an extra 1/4 inch of space occasionally, though over time as you wear it longer, you'll likely find yourself filling up most of the cage. In my opinion, the cage diameter is just as critical. For this, I suggest finding the smallest sizing ring that fits onto your flaccid shaft without any wobble, then add 1/4 inch to that number. This provides enough room for semi-erections and makes cleaning easier since you don't have to remove it every time. However, ensure you can handle the smaller distance between the bottom of the cage tube and the underside of your chosen base ring. That gap is what actually secures the device snugly against your body. It might seem backwards at first, but choosing a diameter that is too small can lead to a loose or poorly fitting setup.

When I ordered from MM, my measurements varied by about 5/8 of an inch over the course of a week. When I asked for guidance, MM recommended going with the shorter size, and I haven't regretted that choice. Just make sure you aren't measuring when you're overly 'shriveled' up.
