Sizing Up Your Steelheart Purchase

(I realize there have been plenty of threads on this subject, but I’m trying to gather everything into one convenient discussion. If the mods choose to remove it, no hard feelings.) Since I’ve already made up my mind to buy a steelheart, I think taking multiple measurements over the next week or two will yield the best results. What I want to find out is everyone’s experience with the steelheart and how they handled sizing. does anyone feel that sizing it slightly larger would be more comfortable, or should it be smaller? also, what do you all think about the regular rind versus the anatomical ring? Does the extra space in the anatomical version compromise security? finally, how frequently have people managed to downsize their A rings? I’m ordering a set from mature metal so I can gauge where to begin, but I’m interested in knowing how quickly my body adjusts to each ring size as time goes on.

It would be useful if you gave us some context. I could dig up your earlier posts, but that might not give the full picture. What are you currently wearing, or have you been device-free? Which other devices have you used before? Also, I suspect most guys could shift their testicle out if they moved the center point to one side. To keep that central gap secure enough, the overall gap might end up being too narrow. > how often have people gone down in size on the A ring? frequently. It’s almost a necessary progression with this device. If I had started with my current ring, I doubt I could wear it comfortably. Smaller rings didn't work for me either. I think I've found the sweet spot now and even ordered one 1mm smaller just in case. The set might help clarify things, but keep in mind that a narrow plastic ring behaves differently than a wide steel one like those used by steelworxx. I find the wider steel rings much more comfortable. The overall diameter still matters, especially when you get down to smaller sizes. You have to balance comfort and wearability during everyday use with safety and ease of movement during an erection. > Check these threads Absolutely check out those threads plus all the other discussions on the topic. Over in a few different threads that i have read people have mentioned (in passing mind you) there opinion as to how much room if any to allow yourself when you are sizing yourself for comfort inside the tube. I know i am a bit on the thicker side since i have split a new CB3000 with not problems.....twice. I understand everyone has different taste, im just looking to get a vote and see what the majority of people think. also i forgot to ask. I have PA and plan to also purchase the PA fitting. Should i also allow a bit of extra room for the fitting inside the tube?

Deathrage, If you haven't checked it out yet, Thumper's blog (denyingthumper) has some very good information on the Steelheart. And he has a PA, too. If I recall, I think he does recommend a little extra room for the PA and fixing. I don't have a PA, so can't comment on that aspect. When I measured over a week or so, I went with my average flaccid length. I've been wearing it much of the past 3 weeks, and it seems great. I'm glad I didn't subtract any length from my measurement. I think that would've been too tight. If anything, I might add 1-2mm if I were to do it again. That, and maybe have also ordered one more ring (41mm) since they can't be ordered a la carte unless you send the tube back, too.

about a year ago I tried the cb6000. Started off with the next to largest ring because of unbearable pain. After several months I was wearing the smallest size-1 1/2 inches, I believe. For the steelheart, I chose an overall length of 85mm, which is the smallest choice offered on the site, and a 40mm ring. I am pretty much average in length and maybe a bit bigger in girth, but still ordered the 35mm tube. Result is a filled to capacity tube. No problem with my pa ring. I would be somewhat concerned about a longer tube because as you shrink the pa fixing would be pulling on the ring and consequently putting pressure on the piercing.
