Contemplating a Metal Chastity Device

Since our experiences with chastity have been going so well, I’ve started considering what features would matter most in a metal device. That’s not to say I’ll be buying one immediately; it will take some time to save up enough money.
Still, I prefer planning ahead and welcome any advice on choosing a durable long-term option. If I were to rank my priorities from highest to lowest, they’d look like this:
- Comfort - We don’t know exactly how far we’ll push our chastity play, but I want the device itself to be no hindrance. It needs to be easy to wear and clean over extended periods.
- Concealable - I want something even less obvious than my current CB6000S. With young kids around, I don’t want them shunned because other parents send them away from ‘that odd man with the strange bulge in his trousers’.
- Security - Primarily, I need to be sure it won’t come off. Any device can be defeated if someone tries hard enough. I’m not clinging to an unrealistic idea of making it completely escape-proof.
- Price - We aren’t swimming in extra cash, but I’m happy to save for a quality piece that will last years. I have some collectibles planned for eBay to help raise the funds.
Other considerations: I seem to be allergic to nickel. My skin reacted poorly to inexpensive metal O-rings from the hardware store used as cock rings, and I now keep my car keys in a small pouch to stop my thigh from itching. From what I understand, surgical stainless steel is fine with me, but I’ll likely test a sample against my skin for a while before spending big on a new toy.
Options under review: I’ve been looking at Mature Metal’s Jail Bird and Queen’s Keep, as well as Steelworxx’ Looker 01. The Mature Metal products don’t quite thrill me. They looked good initially, but I’ve read complaints about the alignment of the cage and base ring that give me pause. Also, besides a masterlock style, their only other option is a security screw, which isn’t my favorite. The psychological effect of your keyholder securing you shouldn’t be underestimated, and the slow process of tightening a screw weakens that for me. Mature Metal’s main advantage is the price.
I really like Steelworxx’ Looker 01. If I buy it, I’d choose the anatomical base ring with an integrated lock. However, I have some concerns: First, that urethral tube doesn’t seem very practical for long-term wear. I might go without one or consider this: see if I can get a device with a much shorter permanent urethral tube, perhaps half an inch in length. The goal is to keep something inside the urethra due to its short length within the cage, allowing easier urination and better hygiene. A more complex version would combine this shortened tube with a genital piercing, either Prince Albert or Reverse Prince Albert. The shortened tube would effectively become part of a very short Prince’s Wand, ending just past the piercing. The cage would need modification so the crossbar pin enters from above or below (depending on the piercing) and threads into the urethral tube. Ideally, the head of this pin would sit flush with the exterior body of the tube, preserving the device’s concealability. Second, the gap between the cage and base ring is 12mm, which is much larger than the spacer I currently use in my CB6000S. That spacer is what keeps my balls from popping out of the 1.75-inch base ring I’m using. My experiments with a 1.5-inch base ring on my old CB3000 were not successful; it was uncomfortable, and I eventually removed it because a hydrocele began forming between the ring and cage. Perhaps I can work back down to that size, perhaps not. Currently, I’d need that 12mm gap reduced for this device to suit me.
I appreciate any advice, thoughts, suggestions, or alternatives you all have. This is an expensive decision, and I want a well-thought-out design before proceeding. Thanks.
I’ll keep this brief since it seems you are leaning toward the Looker 01. I wore CB6000s for two years. I wasn't sure anything could be more comfortable, but I wanted that secure feeling of stainless steel and my wife and I really needed to address hygiene issues with the CB series. The Mature Metal Jail Bird has solved both problems. It's more comfortable than the CB6000s. I haven't been pinched yet, and I find it easier to move around and bend over. Regarding security, once adjusted properly with the correct ring and gap size, there is no way out without removing the screw. Now about that screw: we chose the High Security Screw, and not having that padlock appearance has really lowered my profile. Best of luck whichever you choose.
> member_56a3d51043 wrote: > I’ll keep this short since it looks like you are moving towards the Looker 01. Actually, it depends on what day you ask me. I'm still going back and forth about it. Hearing of your good experience is certainly a mark in Mature Metal's favor. And my wife did respond more favorably to their design aesthetic than Steelworxx. Also, it looks like the bars of the MM cages would be more easily compatible with a Prince Albert or Reverse Prince Albert piercing. So I don't know yet. Thank you for responding. I was beginning to feel kinda lonely around here.
> member_7e766db0a6 wrote: > I like to plan ahead and I'd appreciate advice on the purchase of a good long-term device....... A couple of thoughts on your quest. I have had a CB-3000, Several MM Jailbirds, a Pet Trap, and a couple Steelworxx Steelhearts. Mature Metal makes a good device. Steelworxx brings it up a notch or two. I find the larger diameter base ring to be much more comfortable. The fit and finish is great. The integrated lock is very low profile and uses a real key. 1) Comfort - the tube devices are very comfortable, even more so than cage-type devices. They are slightly harder to clean but it can be done. 2) Concealable - any of the custom metal devices are pretty good in this area. The lock is the biggest part that will stand out. The steelworxx integrated one is the best I have seen. Maybe Lori's too, but they don't use a real key. How concealable it is depends on what size you get. The Steelheart that I wear is extremely compact; the only part that stands out at all is the lock, and even that is pretty minor. I am a grower though, so my flaccid sized tube is quite small, 57mm for the tube portion. I have another one about 10mm longer, which makes a big difference in concealability. It doesn't stand out much, but I do need to avoid certain positions. I can wear just underwear without worrying about kids noticing. I don't worry at all about visual detection. If you (and I mean specifically you, not generic 'you') knew I was wearing it, you might be able to tell under certain circumstances. Anyone else would probably think it's a strange fold, or my keys, or something similar. I make sure to avoid situations where someone might bump into it. Not likely often, but occasionally possible. I wouldn't want one of my kids hopping on my lap unexpectedly, though if I know it is going to happen, it's fine. My youngest sat on my lap while mowing the grass a couple weekends ago; no big deal. 3) Security - I agree with your concern about the device falling off. That has always been my #1 worry as well. Having a big chunk of metal land at your feet can be truly embarrassing. You mentioned concerns about the gap on the Steelworxx device. He can make it whatever you want. The anatomical ring makes it more difficult to keep secure. I have one and don't like it. What happens is the gap becomes much wider in the center where the bend is than around the sides. If you rotate the device a little, that larger gap will line up with one nut, and it will pop through pretty easily. Rotate the other way, and the other side goes out. If you set the gap small enough on the anatomical ring to prevent this, you might not have enough room elsewhere around and could face issues with ball burn or other comfort problems. The size of your testicles will impact that as well. 4) Price - No working around this one. Steelworxx is expensive. Make sure you create an account on his website indicating you are in the US. The prices will then reflect that you don't have to pay VAT. That makes a big difference, around 18% I think. I love the looks of the Looker 01 and may get one someday. I have only played with a penis plug very little but don't think I would want one for the relatively long times (3 weeks plus, sometimes 8 weeks or more) that I usually stay in a device without removal. You can get the looker 01 with a removable penis plug. I understand your idea of a shortened urethral tube, but I think half an inch would be too short. I am happy with the standard 35mm length and don't think I would go shorter than that. I don't have any experience with metal allergies so I cannot help much there except to say find out first. If you need to, order just a cockring from one of the vendors and wear it for a while. Make sure you clean it really well before wearing it to ensure no traces of machine oil or polishing compound remain. I think I hit most of your main points; if you have other questions feel free to ask.
Atone, thanks for the excellent feedback. I'll get back to you with a few questions soon, once things are back to normal around here (see my other thread for details).
I just received the set of plastic measuring rings from Mature Metal, and I was also looking at the Chastity Heaven website to compare their basic cage designs in stainless steel. Does anyone have any information or reviews comparing the Mature Metal vs. Chastity Heaven cage models? It is interesting that Chastity Heaven sells the identical set of pink plastic rings!
Chastity Heaven is actually a reseller for MM devices. They just re-name things. I don't think that this is common knowledge, so don't go blabbing it around.;) My understanding is that CH started back when MM wasn't making as many of these, but when MM saw how well they were selling, he got someone to do his own web store. Some people did not like having to deal with CH as the 'go-between' when it came to changes and modifications. Personally, I have some serious reservations about the CH website. The CH guy designed it himself; a site builder tried talking him out of it, but right on the main page he is calling them "The Lamborghini of Chastity Devices." Man, that's just begging for a lawsuit, IMO. That, and it's pink. Why do 3/4 of chastity pages have to be pink?
Maybe to appeal to the KH's!
Mike, metal was a huge revelation for me. I had a terrible time with the CB6000 splitting and cleaning was a bind. I am just not that patient... I have a MM jail bird and it is so comfortable most times I don't even know it's there. Proper surgical metals should not cause most people problems, but it all depends on how severe your allergic reactions are... I would suggest finding the cheapest and smallest 'thing' made from high-grade surgical steel and keeping that against your body. I would email MM and ask him to make you something as a tester in terms of a small bit of metal? Explain your dilemma to him and see if he can help? On the subject of urethral inserts... Not had any real experience... but I would have thought the incredibly sensitive mucous membranes there would be a source of real irritation. I have worn penis plugs during sessions with CQ, and I have to say I find them pretty uncomfortable for long-term wear, though that is the only use I've had.
Thank you! I don't think that I would have an allergic reaction to real Stainless Steel. Up to now, my skin has probably reacted to the nickel and chrome found in cheaper alloys and plating.
"Well, today I jumped into real stainless steel and placed an order for a JailBird from Mature Metal (not Chastity Heaven). Using plastic measuring rings while holding a ruler against the CB6000S and ER Jail House, my measurements came out to 1-5/8" base ring, 1-1/8" inside diameter in the cage, 2" cage length, and a 3/8" gap. Everyone was correct about needing plastic rings plus some experience with other CDs for truly accurate sizing. For instance, both the CB6000S and Jail House have base rings that jump from 1-1/2" to 1-3/4", skipping sizes in between. The Jail House felt much too tight at 1-1/2", but I could easily pull out using the 1-3/4" ring. MM offers a 1-5/8" size, which splits the difference nicely and should be just right. I've worn this plastic ring all day with no issues. Using the second-smallest spacing post on the CB6000S gave me that same 3/8" gap as seen on the Jail Bird, so that measurement seems solid too. The 1-1/8" inside cage diameter (based on the smallest plastic rings) should provide a closed-tube snugness while keeping enough openness between bars for easy cleaning. I can see you truly do need to graduate from other CD's before tackling stainless steel!"
> Mike Bekoff wrote: > Well, today I jumped into real stainless steel and placed an order for a JailBird from Mature Metal. > > I can see you truly do need to graduate from other CD's before tackling stainless steel! Make sure you are ready when it arrives. It is going to be really, really small compared even to the CB6000s. I had one with those basic measurements but 2-1/4" long and was shocked by how compact it was. I eventually wore it for a long time, though it took about a month to get used to it. You might want to check some of my other posts to find the write-up on that device. I'm not trying to discourage you; just preparing you for its arrival.
"Are you saying I might have ordered it too small? I think all the measurements were accurate. They just added up to a smaller CD overall. The MM measuring instruction sheet that came with the plastic rings says regarding cage length: 'If you measure different lengths, order the shorter one. Then subtract 1/4".' It is always better to have something slightly short rather than too long."
"When I received my metal device, we both thought I had made a mistake ordering it so small. Compared to the CB6000s, it looked tiny. After a few hours and the excitement wore off, I began to realize what true comfort felt like. I wouldn't want it any larger in any way. If you followed the cage measuring directions Mature Metal provided, I would feel confident that your size is correct."
"Thank you! Atone had me worried there for a minute! I spent considerable time today checking and re-checking my measurements multiple times, so I am certain I got them right!"
> Mike Bekoff wrote: > Are you saying I might have ordered it too small? I think all the measurements were accurate. They just added up to a smaller CD overall. It is always better to have something slightly short rather than too long. No, I'm just saying be prepared for it to be a small cage when you open that box, especially compared to the CB6000s. I don't know your exact size; it might actually be too big:) I've had many different devices, and when one of that size arrived, it was quite a shock seeing how small it looked. It ended up being worn more than any other device except for the Steelheart (which also appeared *really* small initially).
> Mike Bekoff wrote: > I spent considerable time today checking and re-checking my measurements multiple times, so I am certain I got them right! Mike, The most critical measurements are cage diameter and length. Once done, they are set in stone. Everything else can be adjusted at a nominal cost. Also, the correct distance between the bottom of the cage and the bottom of the base ring is what holds the device firmly in place. You could achieve a tighter fit by going slightly larger on the cage diameter, which decreases that vertical distance. Remember you also need to be able to clean inside the cage.

Once done, they are set in stone. Everything else can be adjusted at a nominal cost. Also, the correct distance between the bottom of the cage and the bottom of the base ring is what holds the device firmly in place. Mike, I was exactly where you are now two months ago. MM gave great advice. I wore the CB6000s for quite a while and got it adjusted perfectly. The width (1-3/8") was fine, but since I'm a grower, I wanted to go shorter so I chose 2" length. I wore a 1-7/8" base ring initially; they suggested trying down to 1-3/4". That first week had some issues, so I ordered the 1-7/8" back and have worn it without issue since May 11st—very comfortable. I might try going back to the 1-3/4" later. With the CB6000s, I managed a gap down to 1/4". MM suggested moving up to 3/8" because metal doesn't 'give' like plastic does. Glad I did; there really is no give with metal. Everyone is right that choosing the cage size is your most important decision now. Ask questions of MM since they are experts and won't mind at all. Best of luck!
"Thank you everyone for the great advice and sharing your experiences! I will keep you updated on my progress in this latest adventure, including my dealings with MM during the 'construction phase.'"

"Is there a blank form available for that on their website?"

I don't know your exact size; it might actually be too big:) Atone is right to set expectations.... When my JB arrived, I thought "fuck me, my dick will never fit in there". It took a while... Now at 2.5 inches, it could probably use being slightly smaller still. But the initial shock was real! Bill at MM is very good and will fix things for you if needed. He's a truly decent bloke. Use plenty of lube on day one! I use gun oil and everything works great. I know you'll be happy.
> Mike Bekoff wrote: > Is there a blank form available for that on their website? Any changes were handled via email with Mistress MM. I would sometimes get a response within an hour of sending it. The wait for the device to arrive is quite the killer:D
"It sounds as though everyone here has the opportunity to relive their own process of moving from plastic to metal and sharing experiences with manufacturers, just as I recount my journey."
"I have been reading some previous posts on oval vs. round base rings, and they are giving me second thoughts about choosing an oval ring. On the MM measuring instruction sheet, it states 'The oval shaped ring is wider horizontally and shorter vertically. This allows the bottom of the base ring to match up closer to the bottom of the cage for a more uniformed gap. The uniformed gap adds comfort as well as security.' However, some members' experiences seem to dispute that statement. Did I make a mistake ordering an oval base ring?"
"I might be one of those who tried the oval and it didn't work. Don't read too much into others' problems though; we're not all built alike, which is why custom device makers exist. All I can say is try it, and if it doesn't work out, you can order a round ring instead (around $60 to $65). FYI - If the oval fails you, here's something to try: I experimented with my old oval base ring by putting it in a vise with wood between the jaws. Placing the wide part of the ring against the jaws and tightening gradually allowed me to shape it almost round after a few tries. Now I have two round base rings."
> Mike Bekoff wrote: > I have been reading some previous posts on oval vs. round base rings, and they are giving me second thoughts about choosing an oval ring. On the MM measuring instruction sheet, it states 'The oval shaped ring is wider horizontally and shorter vertically...' However, some members' experiences seem to dispute that statement. Hey Mike, I ended up going with the oval ring for my JB knowing I could do as locked by LRC stated: put it in a vice to make it round. I believe the CB6000s ring is also oval too; if that worked for you in the past, then you should be all set.
"Okay, I am looking at the base ring of the CB6000s now, and it is more like a half-oval. While the top segments holding the posts are flattened, the bottom interchangeable segments are all round. At this point, I will refrain from contacting MM or changing my JailBird order and wait to try it on when it arrives."
> Mike Bekoff wrote: > Okay, I am looking at the base ring of the CB6000s now... At this point, I will refrain from contacting MM or changing my JailBird order and wait to try it on when it arrives. He is very good and makes adjustments post-sale. I don't think you should be too worried.
"Finally getting back to this thread. My thanks to everyone who posted with much-needed info. Special thanks to Atone for warning me about security problems with anatomical base rings and to wishful4 for highlighting the importance of the distance between the bottom of the cage and the bottom of the base ring. Once I ruled out the anatomical base ring, I had to look closely at the Steelworxx Looker and decide if it was still worth the extra cost. The major factor in its favor is the integrated lock, which I really like. But then I saw this: the archived discussion Beautiful! Almost exactly what I want. The Jailbird looks much better to me with the extra rings around the cage, plus it has the lock I wanted. Now if only I could get it a little shorter... I'm sold. I've ordered the MM sizing rings along with a small sample of their steel so I can test how my nickel allergy reacts. High compliments go to their customer service. In my journal thread, I mentioned switching to the 1-7/8 inch base ring in my CB6000S because I can't tolerate anything tighter. Now the problem is that a testicle works its way out quite painfully about once a day. Since it's plastic, the device has some play; the gap between the bottom of the cage and the 1-7/8 inch base ring ranges from 5/16 to 1/2 inch! I still need to check what that gap range is with the 1-3/4 inch base ring since my balls couldn't escape there. The lower position of the cage in Mature Metal devices, which initially seemed like a downside, now looks like a benefit. They should allow me to wear a larger base ring while keeping the bottom-to-bottom gap relatively small. I plan on ordering a larger diameter cage than the CB6000S, which should narrow that gap further. One concern is whether modifying the device with Steelworxx's integrated lock will change those gap distances and undermine security. This has made me wonder if there are alternatives to suggest to Mature Metal that won't alter those carefully chosen parameters. I have a few ideas but may require illustrations. More on that later.
"Ordered a Jailbird yesterday: Base ring: Oval, 1-7/8 inches Cage Length: 1-3/4 inches Cage diameter: 1-3/8 inches, with one extra ring around the cage Gap: 3/8 inches Now I just have to wait for this darn thing. In the meantime, I'm having butterflies in my stomach—a mix of excitement and fear."
"Congrats on your order! You won't be disappointed with a Mature Metal device; they provide first-class service. You are correct that the hardest part is waiting for arrival. Your cage diameter matches mine. I'm curious how you arrived at those sizing numbers?"
> Mike Bekoff wrote: > "construction phase." wishful4: I am also waiting for my MM JailBird to be completed and shipped. A recent e-mail from Mistress MM last week stated that might occur on June 29th or 30th. As you said, 'the hardest part is waiting.' CaptivatedCaveman had written on June 14th that he ordered the set of plastic "MM sizing rings," so I'd guess he used them to determine his order measurements. In my own case, I arrived at a cage diameter of 1-1/8 inches using the smallest of the nine plastic rings. With the next larger ring (1-1/4"), I could still fit two fingers underneath, while with the smallest ring it was either one finger or none at all. CaptivatedCaveman: I also have 'a mix of excitement and fear.'
> Mike Bekoff wrote: > "construction phase." Yes, I did use Mature Metal's plastic sizing rings. I also measured my cock in its flaccid state with a ruler several times a day—sometimes right after coming out of the CB6000S, sometimes not. The length consistently came out at about 2 inches. To double-check, I gently compressed my cock inward (like collapsing a telescope) while resting on the ruler and found that below 1-1/2" I didn't think it would be comfortable. MM recommends taking off 1/4 inch from your measurement, which is what I did. I almost went for a 1-1/2" cage but felt that was too big a jump from my current device. When using the sizing rings, I held my cock at 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 inches and tested the fit. Sometimes starting large and moving down; other times small and moving up. This had to be done gradually because contact stimulated enough growth. A 1-3/8" diameter was a little snug (especially on the corona, the widest part of the head). On the other hand, 1-1/2" felt slightly too big—it barely touched the shaft and only made significant contact at the corona. I was thinking of asking if my device could be made with a 1-7/16" diameter when I realized something. On the Jailbird, the metal rings are 1/4 inch thick while the rods running parallel to the cock are 1/8 inch. Looking at pictures, you can see the cage is narrowest at these rings. Elsewhere there's an extra 1/16" space on either side (1/8" total). I contacted MM and confirmed this is true. I shared my reasoning and was advised to go with the 1-3/8" diameter cage. Since I wanted an extra ring around the shaft anyway, it works out perfectly: mostly 1-3/8" around the shaft where narrower is needed, and 1-1/2" around the glans. The rest is educated guesswork, but gap and base ring size are cheap to change later. I use the smallest spacer on the CB6000S (1/4")—but because there's play between ring and cage, the actual bottom gap can widen to 1/2" when wearing my 1-7/8" base ring. That is the smallest base ring I tolerate but keep popping out of. The 1-1/2" base ring is too tight for comfort but keeps me secure; with that one, the actual gap is 3/8", which is what I went with. For base ring diameter, I considered going up to 2 inches for extra comfort, but everything suggests staying a little smaller when switching from plastic to metal. So I decided to keep things as they are now (only $10 to change later if needed). I think that covers it. Any other questions?
> member_7e766db0a6 wrote: > Any other questions? Yes, why not just order one ring? I went ahead and ordered three along with my Steelworxx unit because 1) I expect my body will likely adapt to smaller rings as time goes on 2) I wasn't entirely certain how these new rings would measure up against what I currently use 3) in daily life, there could be various reasons to switch sizes up or down With the Steelworxx devices, ordering a replacement ring required sending back the original tube, which was something I wanted to avoid.
> member_990eb4aa2e wrote: > Yes, why order just a single ring? It comes down to budget. We are already pushing our finances to make this purchase possible. The extra cage ring was practically a luxury for us. If we hadn't taken so readily to chastity like ducks to water, we might not have spent the money at all. Earlier in this thread I mentioned we were planning to take things slowly and save up for a Steelworxx device. That strategy shifted once it became clear that the CB6K wouldn't work for me on a 24/7 basis. Plus, Mature Metal products gradually won me over. If any problems arise, I can send it back for just $10 to adjust either the base ring or the gap. It’s a slight hassle, but far preferable to shipping items back and forth to Germany.
> member_7e766db0a6 wrote: > I think that about covers it. Any other questions? Even though my fit is pretty good right now, I plan to reduce the gap on my 1-7/8 inch base ring down to 1/4 inch and have MM stretch out my 1-3/4 inch base ring by another 1/16 inch if possible. I’m still hunting for that perfect combination with my current cage (which is 1-3/8 inches in diameter by 2 inches long). My 1-7/8 inch base ring works about 90 percent of the time without issues, unless I am very relaxed and soapy, in which case it can pop out. The 1-3/4 inch option never pulls out under any condition, but it feels uncomfortably tight quite often. By tweaking both rings, I hope to find that magic bullet for a perfect balance of comfort and security. For your information, I used the same base ring size as the CB series has. Has anyone else had their base ring gap reduced? How much did it improve the fit?
My Jailbird is shipping out today! I actually emailed them yesterday to ask if it was too late to reduce the base ring size. I had grown tired of constantly popping out of my 1-7/8 inch ring, so I decided to give the 1-3/4 inch one a final try. Surprise—it feels much better now. It took several months, but my body seems to have finally adjusted. I’ll see how well the Jailbird fits as it is and send it back for adjustments if needed.
CaptivatedCaveman: I have now had to send my Jail Bird back to MM twice, and I am currently sitting in a second "Time Out" period. The first return was for having a larger base ring made because the original one-inch-five-eighths inch ring I ordered turned out to be just too tight. When the new 1-3/4 inch base ring arrived, I didn't expect more issues. However, after barely two days of wear, I started experiencing that dreaded "burning sensation" due to a gap being too narrow. So it went back again, this time with the original 3/8-inch gap widened by 1/16 inch. So be prepared to "see how the Jail Bird fits" and then send it back for adjustment if necessary," because it seems every new custom CD goes through a "Break-In" period. wishful4: I've found that MM's thin Stainless Steel base rings feel quite different from the wider plastic rings of "the CB series," so I wouldn't recommend relying on them directly to get accurate measurements.
I was dead lucky; my MM JB came out of the box perfectly! Result! Hope you get yours sorted and comfortable soonest.
Jailbird arrived today. All those butterflies are back. My plastic cage feels incredibly tight all of a sudden.

> member_7e766db0a6 wrote: > Jailbird arrived today. All butterflies again. How is the Jail Bird working out for you, specifically regarding your nickel allergy? I have a terrible reaction to nickel and want to order one too, but they told me that even the 316 stainless steel used in the Jail Bird contains nickel. They did mention it was medical-grade stainless, so an allergic reaction is less likely, but they don't guarantee it. Therefore, I'm curious about your personal experience. Thanks so much!
I just noticed this question a few days ago by accident while doing some research on the forums for a new device. I've been lurking here for the last few years, being super busy and focusing my limited time on critical areas. Probably not much point in responding now, but just in case: The Jail Bird has been amazing. At one stage, I wore it almost non-stop for a year, only taking it off for ruined orgasms and doctor visits. No nickel allergy issues at all. However, I'm getting tired of its limitations. The screw has loosened up enough that I can unscrew it with my fingers, and the whole unit rotates too much for my liking. I really want to switch to an integrated lock now. With that in mind, I recently got a PA piercing as preparation for ordering a modified Looker 01 from Steelworxx. The plan is for it to feature a urethral tube that locks through the PA using the same setup found in their Securo-Cage 02.

The plan is for it to have a urethral tube that locks through the PA using the same setup as in their Securo-Cage 02. I ultimately went with Steelworxx and opted for a powder-coated device to be safe regarding allergies. An integrated lock is great, but the key is a bit unusual. Regarding your PA piercing, where did you have it done? How has it been working out for you? What changes have occurred? I am considering getting a deep frenum procedure to avoid puncturing the urethra.
I had the piercing done at Stingray Bodyart in Allston, MA. It was performed a little over a week ago, so there isn't much to report yet. Getting it done hurt less than I expected. The healing process is actually more unpleasant. I bled quite badly initially but stopped after just over 24 hours once I applied Yunnan Baiyao topically (just look it up on wiki). The crust of dried fluids that forms along the piercing can feel like sandpaper if not cleaned off promptly. Yuck. The piercer recommended placing it to the side of the nerve bundle underneath rather than directly through it. I'm unsure whether that's a good or bad thing, as it places the piercing slightly off the vertical axis. As far as what has changed, do you mean regarding getting a piercing specifically, or more generally? My situation is very different these days. Generally better, but dealing with more challenges too. Life feels bittersweet sometimes.
You might want to check out the Contender. It's very similar to the Jailbird except my device from MCN features a "high security system." It uses a bolt with a through hole designed for a wire and plastic security seal. It works really well. I also like the emotional satisfaction of the click when it snaps shut, so I don't have to worry about the bolt coming loose (I haven't had issues myself, though someone on another forum recommended blue loctite). Also, I am a huge fan of MCN's PA hook fixing. It holds me securely without any fear of pinching and is very comfortable. It’s less invasive than a urethral tube. Both design aspects are well thought out.
Thank you for the recommendation; however, I'm fairly set on the Looker at this point. I was nervous about having a urethral insert in the past, but now it really appeals to me.
