My wife has really embraced the CB6000 and all its “benefits,” asking if she could wear HER Key on a Silver Chain. Naturally, I agreed, and yesterday we picked out a lovely one that is now in use. The dilemma: what do we tell the kids (or anyone else for that matter, like our mothers… LOL) when they see it bouncing around? She already had her girlfriend ask about it and gave an honest answer right away. That straightforward approach isn’t going to work with the children or Mom. Any ideas…

I purchased my wife a heart-shaped locket for holding "keepsakes" - an ordinary key would have fit well enough, but the one we were using had a thick plastic heel. I ended up trimming down the heel/base of the key with a hacksaw to make it work. Functionally and visually, it turned out great. This looks similar to the locket mentioned above. Since this version only comes with a black ribbon, I also needed to get some chain to support it. If you search for keepsake locket or victorian locket, there are plenty of other options out there should that one not meet the Wife Acceptance Factor.

I feel a bit foolish for not considering that earlier. Everything is new and exciting (and fulfilling at least for her). She loved the concept, so we will be going shopping this week.

Back when we first began this journey, my girlfriend wouldn't take responsibility for both keys at once. So we kept one locked up here and another at her place. Mine was sealed inside an envelope. I bought a locket specifically for hers. Then she had me over one night so we could enjoy some privacy. We got right to the moment where she was about to unlock me, opened the locket—and it wasn't there. It must have fallen out somewhere and never been found. Talk about panic! I'd recommend sticking with 'it's the key to his heart'. A bit cliché perhaps, but totally acceptable.

She keeps it out in plain sight all the time; some people have asked her about it. I often wonder if one day someone will recognize its true meaning and start a conversation with her.

We told our family that it was the key to something 'mommy' held very close to her heart; that is why she wore it on a chain around her neck. They might have figured it out, but probably not when they were still quite young.

My wife doesn't often wear the key around her neck because she works in a professional setting. That said, I am fairly certain she would wear one of those decorative key necklaces that are quite popular these days. I love the hidden meaning behind it and know that she always has the real key tucked away in her purse.

I gave my girlfriend one of those as well. They really look nice on women.

"Her key is the MM high security type. It doesn't resemble a standard key, appearing more like a slender metal rod roughly 1 1/2 inches in length. I threaded it through a silver chain and offered it to my wife for her to wear. Her response was essentially 'are you kidding me.' Still, can you blame a fellow for giving it a shot?"

"Absolutely, I picture her sporting that piece while dining out with you as a subtle tease during foreplay. However, wearing it to the office? Definitely not my guess."
