Guidance on Ordering the Looker 2

“Looking for some guidance because if I mess up this part, I’ll end up with an expensive but useless chunk of metal!!

I just ordered a Looker 2 from Steelworxx and am waiting for Dietmar to kick off the finalization process (I’m curious how long it usually takes him to start/acknowledge/request payment?).

Currently, my Jailbird has these specs: Oval shape. Cage/Ring Gap: 3/8” gap. Cage Length: 2 3/4” length. Ring Size: 1 5/8” ring. Cage Diameter: 1 1/4” diameter.

I’ve been very pleased with the Jailbird…the sizing mostly just needed tweaking, particularly for the base ring comfort based on:

When flaccid, I generally sit back from the cage end by about 7mm… I also find the Jailbird’s base ring a bit tight at night; it hurts even after wearing it for a year. It still bothers me being slightly too tight, but I think a 1 3/4” ring would be too loose… So, I’m considering making the Looker possibly a little shorter and with a larger base ring.

I am trying to translate my Jailbird specs to the Looker… While waiting for Dietmar’s response, I thought I’d ask here for opinions/comments based on your experience. BTW, I ordered the permanent plug as well; that was the main reason for buying it!!

I’ve been thinking about the Looker for ages and almost bought one instead of the Jailbird…and well…I’m not getting any younger so what the heck, I’ll get two…main reasons for purchase…

1. Easier to pee (especially hoping this holds true at night).
2. Security; can’t really shake it loose or cum without risking internal injury.
3. Holds everything securely in place.
4. Hopefully get the base ring right and be more comfortable at night (so long as the plug doesn’t compensate by being too tight, that is).
5. Harder if not impossible to pull out from the back… even harder to put it back on without removing it entirely if one does succeed.
6. Integrated lock works much better than a padlock.
7. It looks cool.

Also, I’m wondering if anyone has come up with a portable key cover that can secure a tamper-proof keyholder tag…so you can keep your keys in a safe, easy-to-access spot but not be able to use them…ie the tag must be removed before pulling the key out of its sleeve. I might wander through a DIY store and see if there is something suitable.

It took a couple of days once for me. I believe he runs a one-man shop so sometimes it takes a little longer.

"Not panicking,:), maybe there are lots of men needing a muzzle following the Christmas break. I am more interested in getting the size right ....i have been thinking about it for long enough; no need to rush it. I think I need something like a 1 11/16" ring...instead of a 1 5/8" lol....seriously though, a tiny bit of extra inner diameter makes a hell of a difference to comfort..lol His standard sizes are 42mm which is actually a tiny bit larger than 1 5/8 (by 0.8 mm) so it might be ok but the 45mm is actually slightly bigger than 1 3/4 inch so this would be way too big, so I have a feeling I am going to be stuck with a 42; 43mm would be my ideal I think, I will ask him if he can make a slightly oversized 42:) or maybe that part is bought as a prefabbed ring and then bent a bit. Sounds like splitting hairs I know but I have been around (or rather they have been around me) for a long time now, but with the larger sized actual ring of 42mm it might be ok anyway. One does assume these dimensions are the INNER size correct? There doesn't seem to be a spec for the 'cage length' only the penis ring which means the 'cage diameter' (thank you thumper) in my case. The Jailbird is pretty spot on so would be about 32mm which leaves me feeling a little small in that respect...unless it's an outside dimension which would make no sense. But there seems to be a big jump from 30mm which would leave imprints (my Jailbird is 32mm and it is snug and leaves little bar marks even when flaccid, but then the RING on the Jailbird is tighter than where the bars are so maybe 35m ...if he made a 33mm cage diameter that should be perfect but it would seem I need 35mm which might flop about a bit, unless the plug makes it a bit thicker?? experts please? For the length based on Thumper's review I would probably lessen my length to 2.5 inch or 63mm if that is a valid cage length; again doesn't seem to have standard lengths here so maybe that part is custom. The ring gap being about 10mm (Steelworx default is 12mm, no biggy there), but may mean I can go a bit shorter on the cage length. A difference of 2mm in length not going to make much difference.

"Just tell him what size ring you want and he will make it. I have several rings that are only 1mm different in diameter and it does make a difference. The diameter is the inside measurement. I have found on my devices that the 'cage length' is the overall length less about 13mm (or so; hard to measure precisely). I wear a 32mm tube (Steelheart) most of the time. It is really small, about equivalent to the 1 1/8" Jailbird I wore before that. I cannot help on whether the plug needs more room. I would love to hear experiences with it though. I never specified anything regarding the gap but would do so on a new order. The larger rings have larger gaps and I can slip out on the largest ones (which fortunately I don't use anymore). None of my Steelworx devices have a 12mm gap when measured directly from ring to cage which is the only way I know to measure it. OK, just went and checked my notes; actually the smallest rings have an 11mm and 12mm gap when measured at the shortest point. I wear the one with 11mm gap (40mm ring) and the gap is about perfect for me. Just lucky I guess. I think he can make the cage any length you want. I would say that almost all the Lookers I have seen/read about are a lot shorter than I would have thought. If I get one I will go a little shorter too. I think the plug holding everything in place would allow a comfortable fit in a shorter space. My only real experience with this is with the fixing-with-penis-plug setup but it backs up this feeling. I had it take a couple of days once. I believe he is a one-man shop so it takes a little longer sometimes.

Once made, the keys are secured in the tube and held in place with a lock or numbered tag. Hopefully the extremely dodgy drawing will help explain. Cut the tube to length; tube diameter less than the handle part of the key but bigger than the key way itself. Cut a slot so that the handle part can fit down into the tube, drill a hole through the sides of the tube. Then secure keys with a small lock or plastic serial-numbered lock. Should be small enough to fit in a pocket no problem. You can't use the key without breaking the serial-numbered lock or destroying the tube and pretty sure your keyholder would notice that. It does however allow you to use the integrated lock but secure the keys in such a way the plastic lock effectively shows any cheating. image.jpg image.jpg (63.62 KiB) Viewed 6740 times Other way is to simply laminate the key with a till receipt showing the date, time and amount or with a newspaper cutting showing the date. Can fit in your wallet and be used in an emergency but your keyholder would again know it's there; it would also be irreplaceable. I own a Looker 01 and have always used it with the insert. It does add a little to the girth in my experience. The insert keeps everything in place within the tube and prevents pull-out very well. Without the insert, there is more movement and the skin can creep out here and there. I think if you intend to use the insert get the cage length as fitting as possible; that way there is less chance of irritation or problems that you may encounter with a longer cage and insert as, when getting erect and as your penis fills the cage, the insert will obviously move in the urethra and with the increased pressure of the erection on the walls may create some irritation or rubbing. You will also notice the movement when the erection attempt subsides. The only time this happens to me is when I am having a shrivelled moment. When it returns to normal, you can feel the insert move; because there isn't really any lubrication there after a short time locked in, it can sometimes be a little irritating. Hope some of that helps.

Dietmar finalized things yesterday with me...now I have to wait five weeks:( its all paid for.. He agreed to up the base ring to 43mm; I just need a tiny bit more space at night...I like it tight but the Jailbird just hurts too much during the night and I have had/worn it for weeks at a time and never really gotten used to it like I could in the CB6000 where I actually used to ENJOY nighttime arousals. I am having the 35mm dia cage shortened by 10mm to 60mm. Gap is 12mm which is what the Jailbird ended up being after i bent it..lol So all in all I am happy with my purchase...now I have to wait for it and see if i can wear it....I have had the plug made UNremovable...as I like the smooth finish on the front but I must admit to being nervous the first time that ball goes down...I am pretty sensitive inside there....but mostly I am nervous about going to sleep in it for the first time....for really obvious reasons...

I don't wear the plug that often. This was my first attempt and really had very little information to go on. I was concerned about having enough room for the fixing and all; so I ended up with a device a bit bigger than I needed. What I learned was that if you are going to use the fixing-with-penis-plug, you need a larger diameter tube. The ring at the end of the fixing is pretty small so I really needed the larger 35mm tube to accommodate it. A ring that would fit in the 32mm tube would be too small for me to use. I also allowed some extra length; an extra 10mm. This was a mistake, I should have stayed at the same length or even gone shorter by a bit. It took a couple of days of wearing it for a few hours to get used to it and then the longest I wore it was about 48 hours straight. The main reason I had to stop was that the tube was too long and I would slide back on it a little. The design of the fixing doesn't really allow you to 'push' back up so it really needed to come off. I also didn't like the size of the overall device; seemed like too much of a step backwards to me. One of these days I am going to send my shorter 35mm tube back to have a removable penis plug made for it. I think not having the fixing will be better. I am going to ask if he can make a plug that is of the same design as the one in the Looker so it will extend past the base ring. Basically, a Steelheart Looker. I loved the looks of the Looker when it came out (was wearing a Jailbird at the time) but I don't want to give up the fully enclosed feeling of the Steelheart now. I have a question for you - How does the removable plug attach to the Looker? Can it be removed while you are wearing it? It appears to be held on by a threaded cap on the outside. That would seem to defeat the purpose (at least one of them).

"The insert can't be removed while wearing the cage. The end of the insert is threaded and screws from the inside into the hole at the end [of] the cage which is threaded as well. The circular nut on the outside is used as a locking nut and to make it a bit more aesthetically pleasing. I'm locked in something else at the moment so if you want any pictures let me know.

"Well mine ended up being a bit of a disaster, although even as it is its still the best chastity device I have had. Firstly though I ordered a non-removable plug; I ended up with a removable plug, and secondly, even though we discussed the Jailbird and tube length, and I understood how he measures, I ended up with the 60mm being total length IE 10mm too short. Moral of the story is make sure you specify things per the way Steelworx does it because I think he simply forgot the discussion; tho the insert was simply a screw-up (on his part). Being the 10mm short is much less of an issue than I would have thought, but the removable plug annoyed me so much (I am fussy and i dont like the knob on the end) that I reached an agreement with Steelworx to make a discounted whole new one...Although I have ordered the original order length less a tiny bit (2mm to be exact)...I think the extra 10 will make night time a little more comfortable although its pretty good as it is. So I may be offering a fully sterilised pre-loved cage for sale in the near future (let me know if any interested). The insert has proved to be almost a zero-issue and right now its been in me for 2 weeks and i dont even feel it there most of the time...it did take a week or so to get used to it though. But for the first time since I began with chastity I feel completely, securely and more importantly comfortably locked up... I do love the integrated lock...although I am pretty sure you could stick a screw driver under the brass tab and break it to get the cage off if you wanted to; of course in trying it you would break the lock mechanism. There is a chance that you could not break it or move it far enough down to remove the lock mechanism in which case you might be locked forever..lol...one could dremel out the tag if you had enough time without destroying the cage, which is at least comforting as the key and lock insert looks standard and orderable separately. An improvement in design would be for the brass tab to disappear beneath some stainless steel so you could not get to the tab..but its fine as it is...I wont be trying to break it.

Even though I never had a problem with the multiple devices I ordered from him I was always worried, especially with the communications barrier. There are two things I did, which may or may not have helped. First, I didn't ask a lot of questions. I would figure out as much as I could and then ask very specific questions. I agree about the integrated lock, it seems like breaking that tab off or grinding it down wouldn't be too hard. I've thought about adding a hood made of stainless steel to cover it up, though it's not strictly necessary; since I can access my emergency key easily anyway, there isn't much point in covering it completely. I have an extra lock from SteelWorx that cost quite a bit—around $35 if memory serves—but they are available elsewhere too, mostly in Germany, where prices were also high once you factor in shipping and customs. Agreed. I tend to ramble a bit, which is why I accepted some responsibility for the length error; he kindly agreed to replace the insert at no cost, though that meant waiting another long stretch... so we settled on a compromise with a new device. Currently wearing it for extended periods and have to admit I really enjoy it... maybe even too much.

Hi, I'm also about to order a SteelWorxx Looker 2 and would appreciate some advice regarding fit. I've read this thread along with others… Steelworxx delivery?, Steelworxx Looker 2 Impressions, Looker 01/02: size vs comfort, Looker 02.... Anatomical or not to anatomical??? - Thanks for posting! I'm currently wearing a JB with the following dimensions: cage length 2½ inches, cage diameter 1¾ inches (note: text says 35 but context implies mm conversion later), base ring 1⅞ inches, and gap ³⁄₈ inch. In millimeters that's roughly 63.5 x 35 x 47.6 x 0.95. The fit is very good; I've reduced my base ring size from 2 inches and feel ready to go down one more notch. For the Looker, I plan on an overall length about 10 mm (approx. ³⁄₈ inch) shorter than my current JB. According to SteelWorxx's measurement method, my JB is around 85 mm (~3⅜ inches). I stay in front most of the time unless shriveled up. I believe I can go with a slightly shorter length on the Looker because its cap prevents chafing and pinching the foreskin. Since I'm uncut and sticking out the front, my current JB causes some minor chafing which I've grown accustomed to. The base ring needs to be smaller than what I have now; I'm leaning toward 46 mm or perhaps even 45 mm. I'm unsure about the cage (penis ring) diameter. There's a bit of space in my current JB, and the front ring could likely have been one size smaller. The Looker design appears more tapered towards the front compared to the JB, which might help achieve a tighter fit? I now realize the JB could have been customized with a smaller front ring when ordering it; it just didn't occur to me at the time. The bar configuration of the JB uses thinner bars relative to the rings, creating extra space that allows for firm erections. Looking back, I perhaps should have opted for a tighter fit initially, although the ring at the base of the penile shaft fits snugly. For the Looker, I want a tight fit but worry 30 mm might be too restrictive—it could stifle an erection without being overly painful. Any advice on aiming for a really tight looker? Does the urethral tube need more room there? Do you think Dietmar will customize the penis ring size? 32.5 mm seems ideal to me:) wants shiny – how did your experience go with choosing the 35mm cage? I understand you had similar considerations as I do now? Was it too wide? Did the urethral tube help utilize that access space? Did you ask Dietmar for a custom diameter?
