Exercising while wearing a cage

I’m approaching forty and have neglected my health for most of the past three years. Actually, I haven’t felt like I was doing well in a long time until recently; it’s been on an honor system basis. After many periods of denial, we purchased a Jail Bird cage that I wore comfortably for about seven days. Recently, however, the flu and other stresses derailed me. It is now Day 9 without an orgasm, with only two occurring in the past fortnight as I recover from being sick.
I feel ready to slip back into the Jail Bird next week. However, I also need to resume cardiovascular exercise; I already have a gym membership. An elliptical machine seems like a sensible starting point? For those of you who enjoy shower fantasies, note that I intend to shower at home.
I got serious about fitness around age forty-nine, so let me share my perspective. First off, you cannot out-exercise a poor diet. If your goal is self-care, prioritize what you eat above all else. Reduce carbohydrate intake, particularly processed items like bread, pasta, cake, and hamburger buns. Even "healthy whole wheat" often falls short as an alternative. If you crave starches, opt for rice or baked potatoes (using olive oil instead of sour cream). Consider reading a book on the Paleo diet and following it for several months. When I had my CB3k cage and belonged to a gym, I wore it while lifting weights rather than doing cardio exercises like squats, deadlifts, rows, pullups, presses, and curls. These build muscle mass well. For cardiovascular work, I returned to bicycling (you can find several threads here discussing that). Eventually, I established a home gym for convenience. During warmer months, I cycle fifty to one hundred miles weekly without compensating by eating back the burned calories. Over two years, I shed over forty pounds. Last year saw another ten-pound loss, though winter brought five back on (but biking season is returning soon). If you must use a gym, try the treadmill or stationary bike; elliptical calorie counts are notoriously unreliable. When warm weather arrives, however, prefer running outdoors to plodding along staring at a TV screen.
Tom—somehow I knew you'd be the first to reply. Did the cage ever interfere with your workouts? Issues with sweat? Chafing? Pinching? Or added weight?
Fitted underwear helps keep the cage from bouncing excessively. This is crucial, especially when wearing loose sweatpants. Yes, you will get sweaty; if you don't, you aren't working hard enough. Apply lotion beforehand to prevent chafing. You might experience some catching or pinching, so figure out how to adjust yourself discreetly. I've had the cage bump into bars during deadlifts, but tight underwear holds everything in place effectively. This is even more important for running. Also, look up those biking/cycling threads; there are several of them available.
Thanks.
Re: Working out with a cage by tcs » Thu Apr 04, 2013 9:52 pm Here is one aspect that isn't discussed much. Sometimes during chastity periods, I experience spontaneous erections frequently. This comes with certain side effects, like the boner flopping about. A chastity device helps contain this movement. It's not the only solution, but it works. Along those same lines, feeling full within a device and unable to achieve complete erection creates a distinct sensation compared to simply being unable to cum. I appreciate that restrained yet filled-up feeling. I enjoy the honor system and use it often. However, there are benefits to using a device even if you feel it isn't entirely secure at times. tcs Posts: 238 Joined: Thu Jan 13, 2011 5:18 am Top
seems to be a problem here, I did not post here?

The posts about security and workouts seemed to get mixed together. I started the workout thread; Steph was commenting on the security aspect. Not sure what happened. I am interested in both topics.

No idea what happened, but I have split the post so both topics can stand on their own. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I agree with Tom's low-carb suggestions. I went from a size twelve to an eight after cutting back on carbs post-forty. I also started lifting weights. Women need to lift, especially as we age; it helps maintain bone health and boosts metabolism for easier weight management while making you feel great overall. I'd never done it before, always thinking of it as something guys did. Wish I had started sooner, but glad I eventually did. Jake works out in his cage, though we gave up our gym memberships years ago. We have a home gym set up in the spare room with a Bowflex and dumbbells. Sometimes when the kids are away, I enjoy having Jake exercise nude for me, wearing only his cage... ... where were we? Oh right. Before acquiring the Queens Keep from MM, he wore a CB6k. It actually fell off occasionally during workouts. The QK never has (at least as far as I know...).
