Finding the Right Device Fit

I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the ideal fit for a device like the CB6000S, which I wear part-time. After trying out various ring and spacer combinations, I’ve settled on one that feels most comfortable. My main question is about the space: with my current choice, my scrotum (which has stretched nicely) hangs freely, much as it does without the device. If I switch to a smaller spacer size, though, my scrotum gets more compressed and spreads out wider, with each ball protruding further from the sides. It’s not painful, just slightly less comfortable. Should I stick with the shorter spacer despite the mild discomfort, or go with the longer one that feels better but leaves about 1/8” of space before the tip reaches the end? With the shorter option, it hits the end perfectly. Just looking for some input. Thanks.

Back ring: Should have full skin contact around the entire circumference; you should be able to push it back so your little finger’s first joint touches the inside of the ring. (Two fingers width is too loose.) Spacer: Can range from tight to loose depending on comfort, but shouldn’t be so large that a testicle slips backward through it. Note: It often takes some adjustment over time; many users find they need smaller rings after a few weeks.

Thanks. I’ll double-check the finger clearance when I put it back on later today. I’m pretty sure one finger fits under the back ring up to that first joint, and there is full skin contact. Regarding the spacer, what exactly do you mean by "not big enough for a ball to slip back through"? Do you mean slipping backward past the base ring? I might try the shorter spacer again and accept the slight discomfort; my scrotum should stretch further to accommodate it.

I mean the gap between the cage and the ring. On colder days, a testicle can be pulled through what seems like a surprisingly small opening. Once it passes through, it goes straight back toward the body. The offset is usually most noticeable below the cage.

Got it now. With the larger spacer, the testicle can slide back to reach the base ring and might slip between the penis shaft and the bottom part of the base ring. Good point; I’ll check that carefully. It doesn’t sound too unpleasant if that happens...:)

Good point, I'll double check that. It doesn't sound like it would be very much fun if that happened...:) The issue has occurred to me a few times; the pain is usually short-lived. The problem often lies with the plastic pins flexing slightly, which widens the gap at the bottom. You may need to size down a bit to compensate for this flexibility.

Thanks for everyone's advice. I rechecked my ring size and realized the one I’d been using was too big because a finger could slide through the base of it quite far back. So, I went down a size, and indeed, I can just fit my pinky up to that first knuckle now. The ring feels nicely firm. I think I actually tried this same ring when I started out, but it felt too small then; things have physically changed since then, so it fits correctly now. I’m still using the original spacer, which seems to let enough room for my scrotum to hang without getting pinched. The real test was last night: I woke up with a nocturnal erection, and honestly, it wasn’t painful at all—just a pleasant firmness... hard to describe perfectly, but I didn't mind it in the least. I just rolled over and went back to sleep. Thanks again for your help.

That’s one of the main reasons the CB series is great for beginners. Newbies (I’m not singling you out!) often don’t realize that what feels tight initially might become loose after a few months. That’s why many here advise against jumping straight into metal at first; trying smaller base rings can be costly and difficult. Glad to hear you’re finding your way to a good fit.

I never would have guessed that the second-smallest ring was actually the best fit for me, especially given where I started. Right now, it fits very comfortably, even at night, so I plan to keep using it for a while. In fact, I can almost tell that eventually I might move down to the smallest size since my pinky finger slides under the ring up to that first knuckle. One thing I’ve noticed is that this "tighter" ring handles nighttime erections better. Instead of sliding up the shaft as it grows and then tightening around my scrotum and balls, the smaller ring stays in place more effectively. It seems to restrict the erection from developing fully compared to before—at least, that’s how it feels. I’m really happy with this fit now. Thanks, everyone.

During my last [18-month] session, I wore the middle ring for a long time before switching to the next size down. This time around, I started with the second-smallest ring, though I’m not entirely sure if that was the right choice because the epoxy used to repair the cracked hinge area might have reduced its internal diameter by a couple of millimeters. I find myself waking up 2-3 times during the night. The first two awakenings last night had a moderate 'friction burn' feeling, but the third time there was no burning—I just felt so swollen that I got that dull "ache" similar to what you feel when weights are squeezing together (like in a weighted ball parachute). At least, though, it’s not the intense point of red-hot fire from hinge rivet irritation that plagued my old-style CB3k. I’m wondering if the smallest ring might be doable eventually. I can slide my middle finger all the way in when washing in the shower (my fingers are long and skinny). When this device was new, the smallest ring was out of the question; after three days it felt like sheer torture (not a good kind). With a solid metal ring, who knows... although looking at the numbers, I’m not completely certain. The second-smallest ring measures 1 5/8" (41.3mm), and the smallest is 1 1/2" (38mm). Maybe 40mm is as small as I can go—or maybe it isn’t. I know for sure that with the absolute smallest ring, "pulling out" was impossible no matter how much effort or lubricant I used. I might need to order a solid metal trial; it’s relatively inexpensive before committing fully to metal.

The only issue is that when I first switched from the next size up, it felt quite snug (which makes sense) and anchored the device well at night. However, it prevented full erection, though my balls could still move around somewhat. Last night, during my usual nocturnal erection, I noticed the base ring started moving up the shaft again, putting a bit of pressure on my testicles. It wasn’t too painful, just slightly annoying—much better than with my previous larger setup—but it made me think about trying the smallest 1 1/2" ring to see if it works. To test fitting capacity, I lubed up and tried putting on the smallest ring this morning while semi-erect. It went on without too much trouble, which is notable because getting erect during dressing hasn’t happened before. Once the pins and tube were secured (which took a bit more effort due to the erection), everything felt comfortable. I kept checking periodically for discoloration or other issues. The only thing I noticed was that my scrotum and the tip of my penis protruding through the end of the tube appeared slightly darker than usual—not blue, just deeper in color—likely because I’m still semi-erect. After about 45 minutes, I took everything off to be safe. I think it’s fine and will try it again soon, but wanted some opinions. Also, could my partial erection have been caused by the ring's snugness? When I removed it, there was a bit of pre-cum at the tip. Overall, having the smaller ring on felt great...:)

You might find that you can’t completely eliminate some pulling during nocturnal erections; I just woke up from experiencing the same thing. However, if you go to the smallest ring and it’s *too* small, you could face a different issue: severe bruising under the ring. This can become extremely painful after several days.

I have a really snug JB when flaccid and also feel some pulling during nocturnal erections. Over time, you just get used to it. I’ve noticed some discoloration when this happens too, but once I relax afterward, everything returns to normal.

When using the 1 5/8" base ring, the fit is snug while flaccid, and occasionally during nocturnal erections it slides up the shaft a bit. It wasn’t very uncomfortable; if it did wake me (which didn’t always happen), it felt more like a reminder that I was wearing my device than actual pain, so I didn’t mind. I was just slightly disappointed that it sometimes slid upward instead of staying put, which hindsight tells us is probably unavoidable. Last night, however, I tried the next size down (the smallest 1 1/2" diameter). It seemed fine in the evening with no discoloration or issues, but during the night my scrotum appeared somewhat enlarged. I checked everything out; circulation wasn’t an issue—I had good color and warm skin temperature—but as I thought about it more, I decided to take it off to see if things normalized. They did immediately return to their normal size/shape, so perhaps I was being a bit paranoid. Funny all the thoughts that pop up in the middle of the night...:) I’ll give this combination another try soon since I didn’t get the chance to experience a full nocturnal erection while wearing it.
