Does anyone have data on how often chastity is practiced? I need figures like total device sales or the percentage of people involved. My wife believes it’s quite rare, but I disagree. Without some hard numbers to support my view, though, it’s tough to prove it. Thanks in advance
If you take a bit of time searching online, check out AL Enterprises, which produces the CB2000 through CB6000 range. You’ll find reports on their size and expansion, likely noting that they’ve moved more than a million units over the past 15 years. Since there’s enough demand for Chinese brands to create imitations, you have to assume quite a few people are wearing them. There is also sufficient interest for about twelve other makers of stainless steel options, alongside their own Chinese copies. These cover just the budget-friendly models; several firms also produce custom-fitted steel belts. You could reach out to distributors such as The Stockroom or Kept For Her too. They probably won’t share exact figures with you (AL Enterprises hasn’t when I’ve asked), so we are left estimating.
Considering the manufacturers from both China and the West, plus all the blogs and websites, millions of cages and belts are definitely being sold and worn. Still, I agree that creating precise stats is tough because this topic isn't discussed as openly in public compared to things like watches or goggles.
Count me among those doing it. I personally manage around ten devices though.
Follow the money... With some research, I found a consensus annual revenue for AL Enterprises of roughly $52K. Assuming an average CB-XX costs about $125, that means they sell eight units per thousand dollars in revenue, or 416 annually. Similarly for Mature Metal (known for Jailbird and Queen's Keep), the estimated yearly income is $120K. With an average price of $300, this equals annual sales of 400 devices. The revenue figures might be inaccurate since these companies are private and don't have to report publicly. But as Tom mentioned, you must also account for all other makers, including the numerous Chinese imitations...
Some years back I asked JT Stockroom, and they said they had moved over 20,000 units then, placing them as one of the larger distributors. This may have shifted a bit since, but it serves as a baseline. There are also interviews with AL Enterprises' Millers where they claim to have sold "tens of thousands". Furthermore, consider that their daughters now run the business after their father retired. They showcase the device at adult trade shows with dedicated booths and video displays. They certainly aren't just selling a few hundred units each year.
If one percent of men are into chastity, that creates a community of 150,000 in the US. Removing children and seniors, let's estimate 100K active participants domestically. Adding Europe might double this to 200K? Including interested folks from elsewhere globally adds another 20K. So roughly 220K worldwide. I personally own at least four devices over my life, so it’s easy for me to see how thousands are sold yearly between new enthusiasts and veterans upgrading their gear. As Tom noted, there is a huge number of Chinese copies; they wouldn’t bother entering the market if annual sales were under 1K given all other options available. Male Pet
