Ebay versus Custom Devices

Hello all. My fiancée and I have been experimenting with chastity for a few weeks now, and we’re both loving it so far. The only issue is that we’ve already gone through two devices. We began with the CB6K (purchased on eBay). While keeping us locked up was easy enough, the ridges on the base ring made wearing it quite uncomfortable, and I found cleaning and drying to be a bit of a chore. Next, we bought another device in metal—the spring-style cage that many here know well. This one is much more comfortable (I could sleep through the night without issues), but the fit isn’t perfect. The base ring measures 45mm and the cage length is 100mm. Because of this, when I’m flaccid, the weight of the cage pulls the base ring forward, making it easy to slip out. It leaves me with a heavy metal weight hanging from my scrotum, which isn’t ideal.

Does anyone wear a non-custom device full-time? For those who do custom devices, how does your base ring sit? Should it be flush against the body to prevent slipping out?

Also, could someone tell me what sizes are available for CB6K base rings?

We just checked out the MM website and she really likes the look of the Jail Bird. What’s the best method for measuring cage diameter? I understand cage length, but both cage diameter and ring size are still a bit confusing to me. Have any regular wearers found it easy to escape from the JB?

You should definitely get the sizing ring kit from MM. This allows you to try out different base rings for a while and find the smallest size that doesn't cause swelling. It also lets you choose your cage diameter with more confidence. Cage length is the trickier part. Following MM's advice, I went 1/4 inch shorter than my CB6Ks, ending up at 2-1/4 inches long. This matched how far back I usually sit. That was about 3/4 inch less than my normal flaccid length of 3". Regarding escaping: with the spike strip in place, I don't think it's possible (and I wouldn't want to try). Without the pins or strip, you can get out if you really need to while flaccid. I’m not keen on getting pierced just for absolute security. My wife and I see this as a game that adds spice to our sex life (and has even helped our marriage). As long as she stays interested in playing along with me, I won't bother trying to defeat the device to cheat.

We aren’t huge fans of spikes or anti-pull-out features; they feel a bit too BDSM for our liking. How easy is it to escape without them? Am I likely to accidentally slip out during the day?

My husband doesn't slip out of his device at all. He might be able to squeeze a very flaccid penis past it, but he doesn't cheat. Plus, getting back in is a pain if you do manage to get out lol:)

I agree with LadynMonkey. Once they are well adjusted, I feel very secure in either of my MM devices without needing spikes or anti-pull-out pins.

Did you use the rings that came with your cb6ks as a sizing guide?

Yes, but I wore the CB6000s for quite some time and ended up moving down in ring size before ordering my JB from MM. When I placed my order with MM, I bought two base rings because there was a good chance I would move to an even smaller one (which I eventually did). I know it was a bit of a gamble, but I never ended up getting the sizing rings from MM. However, I communicated several times with Mistress MM and we were both confident in what was being ordered. The ID measurements were 1 7/8 one way and 1 3/4 the other. So, I ordered both the 1 7/8 inch and 1 3/4 inch base rings for my custom device. I started with the larger one, then switched to the smaller ring after about a year. Now, after taking a long break from MC, I’m finding that I need slightly larger than the 1 3/4 inch again due, I think, to some weight gain over the past year. If you can afford it, I recommend buying the base ring size you think will fit plus the next smaller one.

I found that I could wear a steel base ring in a smaller size than the plastic ones used with the CB series. I think this is because the CB's plastic rings had to be much thicker to compensate for their lack of strength. So, what I’m saying is that the sizing rings from Mature Metal gave me the best indicator of how the steel ring would fit and feel.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I’ll be ordering my MM in January. In the meantime, I’m going to stop wearing my cb6ks because they irritate my balls too much. For those who ordered a sizing ring kit, how long did you leave the rings fitted?

Made to measure almost always fits and behaves better than "one size fits some."
