Both of Us Are Ill (Flu/Virus)

We’re both under the weather right now. It’s either a bad virus or influenza. Neither of us is in the mood for sex, naturally. She suggests taking it off. I feel fine holding onto it at the moment, but if we need to go see a doctor, I’d prefer to remove it then. I know other couples have dealt with this situation before. What was your approach?

We caught the flu at the same time. There was no T&D or any play going on while we were ill, but my cage stayed in place (except for an hour when I visited the doctor) because she felt it had nothing to do with being sick!

Who wants sex while they are ill? I didn't have the flu but felt terrible. Trying to get sympathy from her is like trying to squeeze blood out of a stone.

For us, it's more symbolic. It’s sort of like wearing a wedding ring around the house. Even if nobody is in the mood for anything naughty, it remains a sign of our commitment and agreement. I take it off only when there's pain or discomfort, or if I'm stuck in the bathroom or something similar, but it goes right back on as soon as possible. It eventually becomes like putting on socks: we get home, settle down, and I put it on. It would be more intense if my wife or partner insisted and teased me, but beyond an occasional hand check, it's up to me to keep wearing it. It symbolizes the agreement rather than being the agreement itself. Sometimes wearing it doesn't do much for either of us, but not wearing it feels like taking off a wedding ring, if that makes sense.

I agree with Finn... it's a symbol, but I'd rather have it on than off. However, practicality comes first. Hope you two recover soon.

Sick or not, my husband keeps his on. He's been out for easy access the last few days while caring for me after my shoulder surgery, but he gets locked back up today and the next time out will be in 8 days (out anniversary). Hopefully I heal well enough so I can tease him good when shehe:)

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still wearing it. Both of us are quite sick so it hasn't been brought up again. We both went to work ill today. When I got home, she asked how I was feeling. My balls were sore. A bit irritated at the moment because I just want to be free and bedridden with sickness. But not ready to break our deal yet.
