Does anyone know where I can pick up a Locking Post that works with Steelworx gear? It seems like it should be possible to source such a lock in the US for less money. Any pointers or other suggestions are appreciated.

I've also been hunting down that lock so I can (perhaps) include it in new devices I want to sell openly. Up until now, I haven't found that specific type of lock available here in the U.S. I reached out to both MasterLock and Schlage, but neither carries it. So I looked toward Asia and located a manufacturer. The downside is I'm still waiting for them to reply to my message. There will likely be a minimum order quantity, so I won't know yet if buying from them makes financial sense. Is your lock having issues? I said maybe because I have some doubts about using this particular lock. I understand it can freeze up and stop functioning properly, especially when used with the PA Lock. It seems the salt in urine acts as an electrolyte, creating a catalytic reaction between the two different metals (brass and stainless steel). The resulting electrical charge impacts the brass, damaging it and causing it to seize up so it becomes unusable.

I didn't realize you were referring to the lock cylinder. I've been using that same cylinder for about two years or longer without any trouble. I actually have two spares sitting unused just in case. This lock cylinder is designed for furniture locks, which might help when searching for a replacement. I found them on before. Due to shipping complications it wasn't worth the hassle for me at the time; I usually just bought extras whenever I ordered new rings or tubes from steelworxx directly. They cost more but were no trouble.

Yes, that's the integrated locking cylinder I mean. Thanks for suggesting; I might find it there. I've heard some limited reports of their locking mechanism seizing up. I just want to be careful.

I located one at Burg Wächter. It's a cylinder lockblocking key (which amuses me because I originally misread "lockblocking" as two words) German Site: ... rs.en.html USA Site: ... nserts.php E7/ME Cylinder lockblocking key E 6/E 7: for mortise door locks E 700: with stopper, for mortise door locks ME: for furniture mortise locks Image from German Site: Image Image from USA Site: Image

[I accidentally bumped my previous reply instead of testing the bookmark feature.] This has been on my mind because of Pedro69's 3D-printed KHD v3, which is still in beta. It's built to use one of these cylinder lockblocking* keys, similar to those mentioned above. However, I haven't spotted a supplier here in the U.S.A. yet—only options from the UK and Germany (via Amazon). Maybe someone will be motivated to find a U.S. supplier once it leaves beta! Off-topic: I own one of Pedro's V2 devices. It’s very well designed; his 3D modeling skills are impressive. The fit is snug and nice. Unfortunately, there’s absolutely no room for my PA—I might try modifying it. Without the PA, it fits, but it actually squishes my flaccid head from top to bottom... like something is stepping on it. Because of that pressure, I haven't worn it for more than a few minutes at a time.

I bought one of these locks from eBay - delivery from the UK took about a week. Here's the link ... 1c36329650
