Taking the Cage Off and Sexual Activity

Most guys I know who are into male chastity—whether they’re locked up keyholders or wearers of CBs—see release as a sign that sexual activity is coming. Taking the device out for an extended period, like a day or more, feels like a “vacation” where sexual privileges are restored. Sure, some people remove their CB without having sex afterward, but we generally expect something to happen when it comes off.
Since joining the 24/7 lifestyle, I’ve noticed a potential flaw in that mindset. There are solid non-sexual reasons to spend time out of the cage regardless. No matter how comfortable or well-fitted the device is, it puts pressure on our anatomy. Erection attempts, whether spontaneous or induced while inside the cage, add more pressure. Some areas might not dry properly either. All this can cause lesions, bruises, or other issues, so regular maintenance is key to catching and avoiding problems.
If we define “freedom” as regaining individual sexual rights, then that kind of release becomes tricky because it implies something the wearer or keyholder might not want right now. I find getting a temporary break exciting, but maybe our agreements need updating. We should expect weekly releases for cleaning and inspection without any sex attached. Some people prefer to treat CB wearing like a marathon and avoid long breaks; that’s their choice, though it seems risky to me.
A non-sexual release, short or long, shows that our obedience comes from respect for the keyholder, not just because of the hardware. I’m going to ask my wife if she’ll consider this approach. This all started after last night when I got a sexual release but had a dark bruise found during inspection. She’s monitoring it to ensure healing. Future inspections and cleanings won’t include sex. I need to learn that there is a difference between maintenance and fun.
We must ensure we distinguish maintenance (like shaving) from release, and recognize that release itself differs from the potential O day. We also mark our calendars.

No set schedule.... when shaving is needed, it happens. As for scheduled release - never. I'm in charge; I decide if and when he gets out. The only thing that's "scheduled" is Maybe Day, which marks the potential end of denial.
After an open discussion with Beth, he makes the decision...and unlocking rarely includes permission to enjoy an orgasm.
In my case release is often associated with sex, but that's because my keyholder wants that feeling. She brings a bull for some occasions, but if she desires me, I feel she should have access. As the lady said, cleaning and hygiene breaks are separate for us too—I've handed over my cock, so any release I get is for her benefit or entertainment. Everyone differs, and what works works. Sometimes when I'm let out, I don't feel ready; it seems mad but I actually feel disappointed that I haven't stayed in longer.... this feeling is developing. I also find it practically hard to go straight from the cage into sex anyway.... I need a shower and some recovery time first, though maybe that's just old age!

That matches my experience too. This week we went straight from release to a hand job. It was quite uncomfortable for me. Next time she decides to give me an O, I'll ask for recovery time.
I find that changing cages helps sometimes—a breather with different pressures. In an ideal world, it would be nice to spring out of a several-month lock up looking fresh! I've thought about suggesting Viagra.... though I don't know how long before my keyholder wants to use it on me after release.
Hubby always comes out of the cage raging hard.... it's only once he goes soft for that first time that he kind of needs a breather. His penis gets tired haha, so if you take him right out when he is soft, it takes a while to get back up. Hope that makes sense.
I tried 24/7 at first but there seems to be one small section of skin that gets irritated no matter how I configure my CB6000s or how much lube I use. After a few hours it starts burning, even though there are no red spots and it isn't sore to the touch. Another issue is that despite using the smallest ring that fits me (which was hard enough to get into) and the smallest spacer they provide, sometimes I wake up with the CD off. The final problem was that being on diuretics for blood pressure means frequent urination becomes a royal pain in the butt, especially away from home. Some public toilets are gross, and I didn't want to sit on anything. After 10 days of unsuccessful 24/7 wear, we switched to just wearing it during the day at home. However, with the burning skin and frequent peeing, I started wearing it only when my wife goes out without me. Ultimately, I can get my penis out if I want (I've done it successfully) and masturbate, so now we use it about 3 days after my last orgasm because that's when horny feelings return; even then, only when she isn't home. Most of the time though, I'm on the honor system which works for me. I don't like feeling forced to wear it since I volunteered. Why do what I don't want?:) Regarding submission, we've always had a BDSM sex life with me as the submissive and recently formalized my wife's role as head of our marriage (though she practically held that position most of our marriage). She tells me to do things constantly. Even though we have sex twice a week, I never know if she'll let me have an orgasm; thus she still controls them even without the CD. She broke my masturbation habit which started because I never knew when sex was coming—sometimes several times a week, other times weeks apart. Now we have at least two planned date nights a week plus more if she wants. As long as I know relief is in sight or possible, I'm good and won't masturbate to protect our date night. Generally I get at least one orgasm a week; sometimes if she's upset with me, she adds extra days.
