My new Jailbird is giving me a hard time and I could use some guidance. Usually, things are okay, but each morning brings a burning sensation below the testicles that lasts for a couple of hours before subsiding. It’s unclear if this begins with my first cup of coffee or something else, but it definitely intensifies during the commute to work. By mid-to-late morning, I start feeling better again. The balls feel very constricted, and I have to tug some extra skin through just to allow them a bit more space.
Normally, the base ring is large enough; often I can fit two fingers inside it comfortably. Does that mean the distance between the base ring and the cage is too narrow? When I send this device back for adjustments, what should they look at?
I also have a smaller base ring which seems to be the right size but produces that same burning under the testicles, though more severely. Since I know the gap there is even tighter, it definitely needs correction.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. It’s annoying to own such a good piece of equipment only to find it too uncomfortable for daily use.
I experienced similar trouble when I didn't apply enough lubrication around the base ring. I recommend using E45 cream; it works really well for me and eliminates any burning feeling.
Burning shouldn't be normal... what is your gap measurement? You could experiment with adding more lotion or lubricant, but if the ring itself isn't too tight, it might just be an issue with the gap size.
What you're reporting is an issue with the gap.
I agree with Lady M and whistler. I suffered from severe "ball burn." For me, increasing the gap by just 1/16" fixed it completely. Other users here who are mechanically inclined have reported adjusting the gap on their own, but I'm not very handy, and since this is precision work, I sent mine back to MM. They charged around $10 for the service, and it returned in a little over a week.
Thanks everyone. I've been using plenty of baby oil for lubrication, sometimes E45 as well, so I don't think that's the culprit. I'll get in touch with MM to have them increase the gap. It's a pity it takes about a month for round-trip shipping from Europe.
locked4her55, When I first got my MM Watchful Mistress, I noticed the same problems you described. In the end, I did exactly what wishful4 suggests below. It worked perfectly and I haven't had any pain down there since. You might want to give it a shot before sending your JB away for a month. **"There's no guarantee you can bend it perfectly straight, but I clamped the base ring in a workbench vise between two pieces of wood so I wouldn't score the ring. The locking post was at the top about an inch or so above the vise pointing towards me. Then I got a hard piece of wood and drilled a small hole in the end almost the same size as the locking post where it will slip in the drilled hole very tightly. I slide the wood onto the locking post and then gently bend up or down depending on whether you want to increase or decrease the gap."**
I'd love to do this but I'm not the most practical person and I don't have the right equipment. The thought of using a vise makes my eyes water, so I doubt I'll try modifying my JB the way you suggest for fear of messing it up again. Even now, I know that the gap isn't uniform on both sides, which causes the JB to rotate left, and any adjustment I make might actually make things worse. I can always fall back on my trusty CB6KS for a month while they do the work properly, but thanks for the suggestion.
I had the same problem too, and a simple 1/16" gap increase took care of it. I also ordered a smaller ring but found that one was too tight for nighttime wear. My erections struggled to go back down due to the constriction. Since getting the gap increased, I can wear it 24/7. I still put a little lube under the base ring at night sometimes, but most of the time it's not necessary.
