I’m eagerly waiting for my new Jail Bird device, and I’m curious whether lubrication will be necessary given its open cage structure. I typically use silicone lube with my CB6000 models, but wasn’t sure if that applies here too. Thanks!
I don't believe you'll need lube to enter it, assuming that's your question; you can use your fingertips to guide yourself inside. Regarding the base ring, though, it depends on how snugly you fit into it. You might find a little helpful, but I personally go without.

Our hubbie doesn't need lube either; he just pulls down into the cage himself. The base ring could use some lotion or similar product, but for actually putting the cage on, it's not strictly necessary.
I usually put a bit of Aveeno lotion on my glans to help everything slide in and align properly. After that initial insertion, it's not needed. I do apply the lotion around my base ring as well—once after my morning shower and again before bed.

Being circumcised helps, but during extended lock periods, the skin can dry out slightly with that first couple of erections. If you're released more frequently, it probably won't matter much. My usual routine keeps me locked for at least a month. Enjoy!
Hi gowhereiamtold - which lotion do you recommend? I've been dealing with skin drying out and some soreness. Thanks!
Hello betterthansmith, I mostly use Aveeno, though Gold Bond works well too. Just a small amount applied with a q-tip. Best of luck.
I own both a QK and a WM model. I don't need any lube to get into either device, but (while not essential) I prefer adding a small amount of lotion—Aveeno or Gold Bond—around the bottom edge of the base ring. Occasionally, if I skip that step around the base ring, it will tug slightly and cause mild discomfort.
