Using Mature Metal's Locking Cock Ring to Test the Concept

This isn’t even my first rodeo; it comes after the classic “Hello world” entry. I appreciate any wisdom you can offer in advance. Here is some context, followed by the main question.

I’ve had an interest in chastity devices for a while, and my wife has been cooperative enough that years ago I bought a CB-2000. It never quite worked right for me though. The main issues were “Ball Burn” across most setups where it wasn’t easy to pop out, plus the fact that I could pretty much pull it off from behind whenever I felt like it.

Further research made me seriously consider one of Mature Metal’s devices. The cost is a factor, and having already spent money on the CB-2000 with mediocre results makes me hesitant.

My build is somewhat high and tight; I’m more grower than shower. Plus, I spend considerable time climbing in and out of ditches and bouncing around on the firm seats of various construction machines.

I ordered the sizing rings and believe I have a setup that will work. While I don’t have all the resources Tom Allen has, I’m reasonably handy. I rigged something up using a small wooden spacer, the right sizing rings, and some zip tie to mimic an MM locking cock ring fit. After a while, I still got some ball burn, and one time a testicle did slip out, but that seemed more due to the device not being as structurally solid as stainless steel would be. It worked well enough to convince me that investing in the real deal is worth it.

Another worry is that since I sit so much, my nether regions take some beating between the seat and the device. I need comfort levels high enough that I can still work.

My thought process is that the LCR uses a similar “trapped ball” principle to actual chastity cages, so if I am comfortable and secure in an LCR, moving to a full cage should be easy.

Opinions? (Also, sorry for the long post.)

I began with an LCR and found it to be a fantastic training tool for the JailBird. It helps you get used to wearing a trapped ball device, both in terms of sensation and routine....Beth still calls my 'training bra'. Although it gives you a good sense of which gap and scrotum diameter suit you, remember that you wouldn't size an LCR cockring as small as your eventual cage. An LCR allows erections, so the ring must be large enough to avoid major constriction (and a trip to the ER) when erect. The cage's cockring will be smaller because it is sized for your flaccid state; if done right, you get an initial erection that quickly stops. One potential issue transitioning from LCR to a cage: the difference in cockring diameter changes the gap. You end up with a larger gap. Since you have the ring kit, which is a good first step, and your experiment shows you can handle having your sack trapped between two rings, I'd advise following Mature Metal's guidance on measuring for proper cage dimensions. It needs to fit your flaccid cock like a glove....with minimal room to grow.

Welcome to the forum XKB8R. I own an MM locking ring. Sometimes my weekend LRC gets grabby. When she does, I take off the cage but keep the cock ring on. My experience isn't identical to yours, but hopefully it helps. We have a large yard; mowing takes me over three hours on a 42" rider. About an acre is uneven terrain. When I mow this part with the cage, I find myself adjusting often. The bouncing in the seat causes parts to pinch and apply unwanted pressure. With the locking ring during that same activity, it never happens. It feels more natural compared to when I wear nothing;) I also have many trees and occasionally use a chain saw. I've tried both setups for this too. Again, there is occasional pinching with the cage on if you twist just right, but not so much with the cock ring. I believe the reason is that the full metal cage rests directly on your sack. With just the ring, everything can rotate and turn more naturally.

It wasn't crucial initially, but Version 2.0 of my homemade device had holes that accepted pins from the CB-2000's cage. With another zip tie, it served as a serviceable chastity device for short-term play. I managed an erection in it; the only issue was uncomfortable pulling on my sac, but constriction wasn't problematic. I also tested just the sizing ring around my cock during an erection with no issues. Naturally, there was no way of getting it off while erected, but everything returned to normal afterward. Not so much pinching per se, but given my build, effectively trapping my balls leaves little slack for movement. Frequent bouncing might feel less like being squeezed and more like getting punched.

XKB8R, I'm arriving slightly late to this discussion but wanted to share my thoughts. I think you're overthinking it just a touch. Try your best to get the cage size correct from the start. The cage diameter is fixed; while you can shorten or lengthen it, that cost is somewhat higher. Changing the gap and base ring size is relatively cheap. I'm about to order my third MM device after making all the sizing errors myself. Among all measurements, cage diameter is the most critical because it determines both the gap and how well everything fits together overall. Getting it right initially is partly luck. There is no magic bullet.

I've read many threads on measuring techniques. The ring slips past the corona easily but isn't so tight against the shaft that it becomes immobile. And the base ring fits with enough room to slide an index finger underneath, as MM describes. What worries me is how the two rings interact to define the space trapping my balls. I intuitively understand Regular Joe's point above about how changing diameters between an LCR and a real cage affects that gap—the reason I wondered if the LCR would validate those measurements. I'm willing to spend a bit more upfront to ensure this combination of ring sizes works comfortably and effectively before spending a significant chunk of my lunch money on a device that might fail or be impossible to adjust. (It's another topic entirely, but there is also Mrs XCB8R. Like most guys here, I am the one pushing for this; she is just going along with it. It’s about taking small steps. For my wife and me, it took months, perhaps even a full year, before she truly saw the benefits. Now she doesn't hide her feelings; she is clearly in control regarding my dick. She has noticed how my attitude shifts when I'm away for extended periods, and she prefers keeping me chaste for her enjoyment both indoors and out. It's been over four years for us now, and honestly, I can say that the dynamic has shifted—I am no longer the one driving this process.:D

My wife and I have only been at this for two months; naturally, like a kid with a new toy, I wanted everything RIGHT NOW. However, she seems to be slowly warming to it all, and I realize this is more of a marathon kink than a 100m dash. I think this is a good moment to provide an update for those who replied and anyone else reading along regarding the SLCR. We received one, and I started wearing it last Wednesday night. After two long days at work, I took it off Saturday morning for unrelated reasons, but have had it back on since then yesterday afternoon. The results are very encouraging.:) Yes, there were occasional moments of discomfort while bouncing around in operating equipment or driving the truck, but nothing overwhelming. As others noted about various MM devices, sometimes I barely notice it's on; generally speaking, it is quite comfortable. A few observations regarding topics I hadn't raised earlier: There is noticeable discomfort when erect. It isn't painful per se, just no longer purely comfortable. This discourages some self-pleasure, even though it remains possible. If I do attempt to pleasure myself (I had to *try* it for scientific reasons;) ), the gratification isn't nearly as strong as without it. Your mileage may vary, but in my case, my balls are pushed forward enough that I can't get a nice long, smooth stroke up and down the shaft. If you've ever tried hammering a nail in a tight space where short strokes work best because the hammer keeps hitting an obstruction on the backswing, you'll understand this frustration. My experience with the SLCR was encouraging at first but didn't quite meet all expectations. It turned out that after a few wearing periods ranging from two weeks down to as little as two days, one of my balls would squeeze its way out. That is an uncomfortable process for about a minute or so, and since it often happened when sticking hands into pants to realign things wasn't feasible, I essentially shelve the device. Fast forward to today: because I've been relatively inactive, I wore it continuously over the past week. Mostly comfortable, with no signs of either boy trying to escape. However, that previous experience suggests that once I become active again, it won't stay put as well. Per MM's advice (often posted here too), you should be able to fit one index finger up to the first knuckle under a properly fitting base ring. That is how I ordered my initial size. Now, however, I can fit two fingers or even a thumb in that space. I'm unsure how to explain this difference unless limited earlier wear stretched things slightly where my sac meets my body. I am considering going down one size on the base ring for a proper cage fit, but I also wonder if reducing the gap by eight might be the better path instead. Any advice?

When first starting and ordering custom devices, needing a smaller base ring is common. That's why it is often recommended to order your known correct size along with an even smaller base ring as well. I would stick with your current gap.

That was how I ordered the size initially. I find now, that I can fit two fingers, or a thumb, into that space. I apologize up front for the length of the following, however since it took me 2 years and many changes to get to where I am now, hopefully it will help you and others looking to buy a custom cage. After a short time in a CB6Ks I ordered my first JB from MM approximately 2 years ago. Using the CB as a base measurement I ordered two rings with the original cage, a 1&3/4” oval (slightly larger than CB ring I was using) and a 1&5/8” oval(significantly smaller than CB ring). I justified the purchase of 2 rings as the cost the second ring was about the same as what it would cost me in shipping to return the JB if I needed to get the ring sized changed (I’m Canadian, eh). I was using the largest gap on the CB (5/8”) so I got the gap on my JB at ½”. My original cage was both 1&1/4” in both diameter and length. When I first got the JB I put it on using the larger ring and was able to wear it 24/7 right out of the box. On the third day I tried to wear the cage with the smaller ring but had to take it off after less than 2 hours as it was very painful and my balls were starting to turn blue. I went approximately 2 months with the larger ring and noticed it was starting to feel a little loose. Again I tried the smaller ring and after some adjustment period (approximately 3 weeks) I was able to wear it with the smaller ring 24/7 with no issues. After a year in chastity both my wife agreed that we both wanted to continue in chastity however I ended up with a lengthy chastity holiday due to 3 operations in the next 6 months. During the beginning of the chastity holiday I ordered a new JB the diameter and length both at 1”. I later sent back my original JB that was 1&1/4” diameter and had it shortened to 1” in length as well. I also ordered both a 1&1/2” and a 1&9/16” oval double rings (my original 1&3/4” ring was used to make one of the double rings). I had the gap adjusted with both the new rings and the larger diameter (1&1/4”) cage so that it was it was a 3/8” gap with the larger cage. After some brief periods of experimenting this past December with both cages and rings I found the 1&9/16” double ring was too tight. I’m not sure but I suspect that was because I had both gained some significant weight, as well as not wearing a ring or cage for approximately 8 months. On January 1st I put on the larger diameter cage with my old 1&5/8” single ring. After approximately 4 weeks I was able to downsize to the 1&9/16” double ring with no break in period. On February 13th I again downsized to the 1&1/2” double ring and have worn it now for 4 days and 3 nights with no issues. During this time it probably has helped that I have dropped most of the weight I put on since my first operation. What I have learned that after you have worn your cage 24/7 for some length of time your anatomy will adjust and change. Weight loss or gain will affect the fitting as well as the weight of the cage will stretch you with time. I would suggest that until you are comfortable with the size of the base ring that you order a single base ring to start. If you can get two fingers in the ring then you might what to start with a smaller base ring from what you are currently wearing. I will tell you that it is a big jump to go 1/8” smaller in size, you might want to just want to go 1/16” in difference. In addition if your balls are able to escape in the current gap you definitely need to reduce that. Remember gap can be changed later (smaller or larger) for a minimal fee of $10.00. A single ring can be made smaller also for a cost of $10.00 however it can’t be made larger. The reason I suggest a single ring is that it can be adjusted in size (smaller) where as a double ring can’t be made smaller. If you are to go to the double ring only do so after you have worn your cage for a significant period of time and are sure it is the size that you want. A single ring can then be made into a double ring for $40.00 (if you want) which is a lot cheaper than buying a new double ring. Although the drop down box in MM’s site only indicate 1/8” increments in size for gap and diameters they will make to order, or make changes in 1/16” increments. I exchanged several emails and phone calls with both Mistress M and William from MM prior to ordering both a second cage, as well as having my larger diameter cage reduced to 1” in length. William was able to explain to me what he need to do to make the cage shorter as I requested and I was very happy with the results. They both were very patience of the numerous questions I had leading up to my orders, and the information they gave me was very helpful in making an informed decision prior to making the orders with them. It was the first cage ordered that they had made 1” (smallest on MM website is still 1&1/4” in length) however prior to completing my order William told me he did shorten a cage for someone else to make it 1”.
