Top choice device for keeping clean

Hello, I don’t get locked very frequently, perhaps three or four times a year. It suits me better than it does her. I’m currently in one (hooray!) and my wife appears to be having a good time with it. Our last serious discussion about how often we use the device was several months back; yesterday she simply ordered me to lock up again. We both felt that hygiene was the main issue holding us back. My guess is that if I switch to something easier to clean, we might find ourselves locking more often. I own a CB-6000S and a mini-birdlock. I stopped wearing the Birdlock for good because it gets really smelly, which bothers me personally. On the other hand, I’m getting used to the CB-6000S and appreciate its low profile. “Security” ranks lowest on my priority list. I like being cuffed and wouldn’t consider cheating much anyway. So, cleanliness comes first, followed by how easy it is to hide. Not much else matters to me, and I don’t picture us ever doing 24/7 chaste living. Based on what I’ve seen here, metal devices seem ideal for these needs. The mature Jailbird particularly appeals to my eye. So, two questions: Do metal options like the Jailbird really offer such a big advantage in hygiene? If they do, I keep hearing that “shorter is better”. My flaccid length varies quite a bit—no joke here. Is there such a thing as being too small? Thanks for your thoughts. I stuck with a CB3000 for years but wanted something that handled hygiene better. That's why I switched to steel. Like you, we don't lock often or strictly enough to make the Jail Bird cost worthwhile (which would be my top pick overall), so I bought a Birdcage instead. The Birdcage has been much superior for cleanliness. I can shower with it on and dry off fully, unlike the CB3000 which always seemed to stay damp. However, I've found the birdcage is too large even though I fill it out when erect. I believe a Captus would have been better; you can get those at Extreme Restraints. If you'd rather not spend around $100, eBay and Amazon offer budget-friendly options. The trade-off is that you might end up with Chinese knockoffs whose quality varies. Yes, steel devices are definitely the way to go for hygiene, especially stainless steel. Most here agree that a good fit means the device gently presses against the tip of your flaccid penis.

We used a CB6000 during our first year. It was tough to keep hygienic without taking the whole thing off and washing both it and ourselves every couple of days or even daily. We then upgraded to an MM Jailbird, which we can wear indefinitely while staying clean with just routine showers. If your budget allows, the JB is a fantastic choice for hygiene, fit, and concealment.

Many CB users (and their keyholders) are happy with their choices and find keeping clean no trouble at all. My wife just didn't care for the look of them, and from reading about their use, it seems they require more effort to stay fresh—a lot of talk about q-tips and similar tools. Having worn an MM JailBird continuously for months, I know that daily showering is all it takes to keep both me and the device clean. Their open design means virtually no hidden spots need special attention. As a very lazy man, this suits me well; even though Beth has had her lips and tongue everywhere possible, she can be quite picky about odors.

My experience tells me that my cage (shown in my avatar) is the best option for cleanliness. I never need to remove it for cleaning purposes. It has great airflow which prevents internal dampness and bad smells. Apart from setting off security gates, I see no downsides to wearing my cage.

I have an MM Jail Bird. Hygiene is easy and excellent. The closed tube styles are more of a hassle by comparison.
