Suggestions for Choosing an enema Kit

Has anyone got tips for enema kits? I haven't used one before, and this will be primarily for prep before anal sex.

Ruby Ryder’s guide Pegging 101 includes a segment titled Keeping Things Clean. She used to favor an enema but has shifted her view. Now she recommends using just clear water. The post explains why she made the change, so it might be worth checking out.

I’ve found that adding a tiny pinch of salt to the water helps me significantly; otherwise, I feel like I need to go for quite a while after an enema. My current g/f usually gives me two small ones followed by a third medium-sized one roughly an hour before we get into intensive anal play. The "fleet" type enemas you find in stores contain extra ingredients designed to trigger a bowel movement, so they aren't ideal for sexual use. Especially the mineral oil variety... I tried that once. Oy.

Occasionally I stick with a standard Fleet enema. It clears things up nicely and makes pegging much more comfortable. There’s no risk in using them every now and then.

I haven't tried an enema yet. Does it actually make a big difference?

It makes pegging much easier for me personally. I can definitely tell the difference.

This is based on my own experiences receiving this way and giving it to several female partners who have done me the honor. However, there's that other 10% where cleanliness isn't as perfect. Then it comes down to how much a bit of "dirt" bothers either party. If you want to be absolutely certain things are cleared out when evacuated, taking an enema or two does require some planning. But if I start the process between 60 and 30 minutes beforehand, it's not too troublesome. It definitely ensures complete cleanliness. And if being totally clean boosts your comfort, that’s a definite bonus. The volume doesn't have to be huge unless you enjoy larger amounts. The fleet enemas are typically around 8 oz I think, even though much fetish fiction talks about quarts and gallons... it's mostly literary exaggeration. You don't need much to trigger the body's evacuation response. That said, some people genuinely enjoy enemas as an activity in themselves. For them, it becomes part of the entire experience. Some love the physical sensations, while others appreciate the emotional aspects of giving or receiving. For me, if time permits, I like to include one. But it’s not a major hassle... usually.
