Affordable choices while heading toward a custom steel cage?

I received a CB 6000s for Christmas and am currently working out the sizing and getting used to it. From what I can see, the 2.5” cage on the 6000s is about 0.75” too long (which is roughly the extra space at the front when flaccid with the second-largest spacer). This is definitely creating some hygiene issues and probably affecting comfort as well. My plan is to eventually switch to a custom-made cage, but it seems like spending a few months gaining experience and dialing in measurements over time is the smartest approach. That way I can get a device that fits my needs and those of my keyholder without constantly sending things back or buying multiple models.

So if I go ahead with a custom piece in about 6-12 months, are there any affordable tweaks to my current 6000s or good knock-off devices worth trying in the meantime? Specifically: • Trying a shorter cage length to check the feel, • Comparing metal against plastic, • Deciding between an open bar design (like Jailbird) and a solid one (like Steelheart).

I spent some time on DHgate and noticed several options that are slightly shorter, though nothing perfect yet. Here is a 1.2” cage that looks like a clone of the Jailbird: … 1050448083, but it’s quite a bit shorter than I need. There is also a 1.5” cage which might be a good fit, but it includes a (removable) urethral tube and has a small opening that could cause hygiene issues. … 5-5|null:0

Any thoughts or suggestions?

In my view, metal "feels" and "wears" quite differently than plastic. I think wearing a metal device for a while will give you a better idea of what you want. Both those products from DH Gate are popular choices, and hygiene shouldn't be an issue with either one. I recommend getting one that is "close" in length to what you expect to need. Stuffing yourself into a cage that is too short could skew your testing for the right size. Cheers, Mark

I have been in chastity devices for years and currently wear one of those Chinese models. It is a real stainless steel device with a solid base ring. I am able to work on and modify my devices, so I have tweaked mine until it is exactly what I want; therefore, I don't need a custom piece. Since I wear this 24/7 year-round, you could call it long-term use. That said, it is best to figure out your correct sizing with the CB unit before buying anything else, whether it's another steel Chinese device or a Custom Made one. Once you are fully comfortable with the CB sizing, move on to steel. They are much more comfortable than plastic and better for long-term wear. The devices linked from DH Gate have hinged base rings. You should avoid hinged base ring devices. No matter what you try to fix regarding hinge issues (pinching/irritation), they won't be satisfactory or easy to wear long-term. Look for a true stainless device with a solid base ring. Many Chinese devices claim to be stainless but are actually chrome-plated, which brings its own set of problems. You can usually tell the difference between chrome and stainless by looking at the pictures. I bought my stainless devices on eBay. The sellers there seem easier to work with. If you need a different base ring size, they will accommodate you, even selling an extra differently sized ring if needed. Good luck on your journey.
