Turning a CB6000s Into a CB6000ss

The CB6000s I had was roughly 1/2-3/4” too long. After spotting a discussion elsewhere about tweaking the 6000s, I went ahead and did it myself. It turned out to be an excellent choice; the fit is spot on, hygiene improved significantly, and comfort levels are much higher. Thought I’d pass this along in case others might find it helpful! Equipment: CB6000s Dremel with cutting wheel, wool polishing wheel, plus maybe some grinding stones for smoothing rough edges. Plastic epoxy (I went with Loctite Plastic Epoxy). 220 grit sandpaper (you can use coarser grades too; I had 80 grit on hand but found the 220 worked best somehow). Directions: You basically cut out the tube section using a dremel, attach the head to the base, and then sand/polish until smooth. First, slice through the middle of the cage. Next, use the cutting wheel to remove most of the extra plastic from the tube area. Then, flatten each side with 220 grit sandpaper. Mix up a thin layer of Loctite epoxy on both surfaces, press them together for about a minute while aligning carefully, and let it set. The instructions say leave it alone for 20 minutes before handling, though full curing takes 24 hours. I started sanding and polishing after about four hours with no issues—using grinding stones to remove the coarse bits, small pieces of 220 grit paper to get a decent finish, and finally the polishing wheel for a totally smooth surface. Thanks for the idea. Just did mine myself. Still waiting for it to cure so I can polish, but tried wearing it and the fit is great.

I'm lazy but have extra cash to burn, so I took the easy route and ordered a Jailbird in my exact size from Mature Metal.:) Nice work by them as well.

Ok, I've been wearing the modified device since last week. It fits much better and for most of the day I barely notice it's there. I even went on a 3-mile dog walk with temperatures below freezing, and my balls were completely comfortable. The first night I woke up with a strong erection that lasted half an hour to subside. The second night I slept through without waking; if I got erect while asleep, I didn't feel it. For the last two nights, I've woken with erections but they weren't as intense, and I went back to sleep fairly quickly. The only downside is I could probably go a bit shorter—at least 1/4" and maybe up to 1/2" when flaccid because I shrink quite a bit.

Great work!! I wish I had seen this sooner! Might spend some cash and buy another cage to shorten it up too! Looks fantastic. Have you run into any issues yet? Like the seam coming apart or anything like that? I know this is an older thread, just curious.

As I mentioned elsewhere, we are cruising this summer and the WM might not survive daily security scans during shore excursions. When relaxed, the CB6000s was just a bit too long for me—I’m about 1/2" from the cage tip. This sometimes caused urine pooling inside. Now with the mod, I sit right at the end of the cage and it feels quite good; like my WM, there's no room to grow. I did this modification last week as gfl described and only swapped out of my WM this morning. Had an active day so far and everything remains solid. Plan on sleeping in it tonight to see how that goes. Will try a 48-hour stint before returning to the MW. Really think A.L. Enterprises should consider manufacturing a CB6000xs.

First post to this great forum. I saw this thread and thought this mod would suit me too. I ordered an extra cage and set about making the changes. EXCELLENT! Far more comfortable, far more restrictive, much less noticeable under pants, and significantly less pressure on my whole package when wearing tighter jeans. Thanks for posting this; I love it and the wife appreciates that there's no more movement inside the old 6000s. BTW, I used SCIGRIP #3 solvent cement designed specifically for joining polycarbonate to polycarbonate. It isn't exactly a glue but acts as a chemical weld—the material melts into itself. Sand both halves as flatly as possible so they mate tightly, then with a squeeze bottle having a needle tip, apply a thin bead of the solvent cement along the joint while holding them firmly together. The solvent wicks across the entire join almost instantly. I had about a 10-second window to make minor adjustments. After one hour I was sanding it smooth, and four hours later I wore it overnight. It passed several boner tests during the night, and then my wife gave it the ultimate test in the morning... All passed with flying colors.;)

I did this mod too since I had some leftover CB6000s parts. My first attempt was messy with pink material. When cutting down, be careful where you cut; I went too far into the "head" section and it wouldn't mate properly. On the second try, I was more precise and left it just a touch long. Then I sanded it down on sandpaper laid flat until perfect. I was also surprised by how well this mod worked. Tried it for a few days and solved the problem of not being positioned at the end correctly. I only wore it about two days because it came with old-style devices featuring hinged rings. That was all I could tolerate before returning to my MM device. If you have an older unit that needs shortening, I'd recommend trying this.

I've been waiting for the makers of either the Holy Trainer or the 6000s to release a super short product. I think it's a natural progression and would solve several concealment issues for me.

Disregard my recommendation to use SCIGRIP 3. After performing well around the clock for several days, the joint inexplicably popped apart. It wasn't under pressure; I just felt a clunk and checked it out only to find separation at what was supposed to be the chemical weld. Disappointingly, the product claims the weld strengthens with time, but apparently not in this case. I guess I'll try something else.

I have done this with a Curve which was my very first device - I'm a grower and it's turned out to be much too big! I took out the whole of the tube section, the resulting tube is just under 2 inches long. I filled the remaining slots in the tube with bits cut from the cut out portion, and sprayed it with silver paint. Spraying it wasn't necessary but I'm using the tube with my most comfortable ring which is a steel one, so spraying it silver gave it a 'metal' look. Talking of rings, you can also make the hinged plastic rings much more comfortable by drilling out the rivet and epoxying the joint together, turning it into a solid ring with the whole former hinge area smooth with the rest of the ring. You could put a smear of epoxy on the join where the holes for the pins are but that's not really necessary as the pins of the device hold it all together when locked.

Hi all. Would love to do this but I don’t have the skills or tools required. Useless when it comes to this stuff. Would anyone be willing to perform the mod on a 6000s cage for me? I would supply a brand new unworn cage, and pay for shipping and labor. Please let me know!

I think the base ring is just a hair too big, but I'm still playing with the gap measurements. Cleanliness is also an issue. But I love the weight of the cb6, aand sliding the tube on after fresh cleaning with fresh lube...mmm...a little slice of heaven! After the next devise fits right, I'll mad scientist my cb6!

My very first device was a Curve, which of course after getting used to chastity turned out to be much too big. I did the same modification with that, using an epoxy resin adhesive and it worked really well. If a device is too long for you, then it's a good thing to do, multiple times if need be, to find out just how small you can go before buying a custom steel device.
