Keeping CB6Ks Hygienic During a Long Lock-Up

Alright, considering we kicked off this chastity experiment on February 1st (January was all about finding the perfect fit with base rings and spacers), I’ve been inside my CB6Ks non-stop for six days—except during our occasional “bed times.” My routine involves showering daily; I wash myself and the tube while still locked in. On day seven, I request the keys to remove it, give both my member and the device a thorough cleaning, then re-lock.

Last night we talked about her taking an Easter holiday with friends for three weeks. She suggested bringing the keys along so I can’t escape the cage during her absence. That sounds like a solid plan. By the time she returns, I’ll likely be quite restless, and to be honest, if I were unlocked, I’d probably masturbate, which would feel like wasted effort. If it becomes an emergency, I could always snap the padlock myself, so I’m comfortable with her holding both keys.

My main question: What’s the most effective way to keep the CB6Ks hygienic for three continuous weeks while remaining locked? Or is that just impossible without causing me grief? Until now, even though I clean it daily, day seven brings a noticeable odor when I take it off. The last thing I need is for that smell to accumulate and become obvious to others.

Nowadays, I go week after week without any trouble in either of my MM CDs. My only suggestion if you prefer not to switch to stainless (and it might not be wise since you need break-in time) is using numbered plastic locks. Once a week, set your phone to record a one-minute video: "show # and remove lock, take off device, clean, dry, re-install, attach new lock & show the new #." Send her the video via text. She now has proof of the old lock coming off and the new one going on with no funny business in between. Just a thought.

The CB6K/6Ks can be tricky regarding hygiene. It also requires constant lubrication for comfort during wear—it's just part of the package. If you're determined to try it this long, I'd suggest keeping one key with you in a tamper-evident envelope or similar container that your Keyholder will accept. This way, if any wearing issues arise, you can unlock yourself with her permission. Do let us know how you get on.

I have to join the chorus recommending a Mature Metal device. I used a CB6000s and despite showering with a handheld head, I couldn't clean properly under the glans. It always seemed to smell. I recently got a Jailbird, and I love how easy it is to keep clean. No odor after four days, and no longer dreading urination. With my old CB, the scent would return quickly even right after a shower if I peed again. Honestly, since you're realistic and know you can always get out, use the emergency key for hygiene checks. I've dealt with fungal infections that burned terribly and other skin issues requiring quick removal; once the cage split and the ring broke too. I always ensure an escape route is nearby. In over 15 months, I never tried to cheat, so it truly doesn't matter who holds the keys. FYI, if you need to cut your way out, snip the middle post below the lock mechanism. It's much cheaper and easier than dealing with the lock itself. From my 45 years in fetish play, unexpected things happen—like kidney stone attacks requiring ambulance rides—as well as other issues like ball slippage that I've already mentioned. Play safe and sane.

I spent months in the CB3k without ever getting out. A daily shower with liquid soap and a high-pressure handheld head did the trick for me—no odor problems at all.

My guess is that your glans sits near the end of the tube. Mine was positioned further back, so when I peed, it splashed backward and sometimes leaked through the side vents, soaking my balls. The Holy Trainer handled this much better. Showering after dinner meant it smelled again by the next afternoon. Showers clean it up, but odor returns between washes. Your urine habits play a big role here too.

My glans tends to retract slightly. I just use a couple of cotton swabs to clean the inside of the tube. It takes some time, but after five days in my HolyTrainer v2, I checked it post-shower and it smelled fresh like day one.

I think having an emergency key available would be better, as you and wishful4 suggested. Often my glans retracts toward the head ridge of the tube, and since I'm circumcised, cleaning the foreskin isn't an issue. For lubrication, I either use a water-based gel like KY Jelly (which dissolves when I urinate) or smear vaseline along the tube. Not sure if that's optimal, but it has worked well so far. Any further tips are welcome. Although having no key access won't be exactly the same as full freedom, for safety reasons, I think keeping an emergency option is best.

Adding my two cents, I agree with locked4her55. Numbered plastic locks that you remove while filming a video is a brilliant idea. It's impossible to avoid some urine odor immediately after showering and re-caging; when you pee right away, the smell appears. From a sanitation perspective, I'd definitely recommend cleaning your glans inside the cage daily. Daily. I prefer silicone lubricant with my cage as it sheds liquids well and lasts longer. When my cage comes off each morning, it smells like urine. But so far in 16 months, I've avoided any problems or infections. Good luck.
