I believe the older CB-3000 model used a hinged ring; they seem to have switched now to designs requiring two or three pieces assembled together. I think the Bon-4M also uses a hinged ring, as do several of the [Chinese] steel options available on .

You might look into using a TetherSpout to stop pull-out. Unlike a PA piercing, it doesn't require waiting for healing or stretching. Check out the devices forum thread on 'PA-like security without piercing'...

Have you thought about a high-end full belt? I've never worn one myself, but based on reviews, they are very pricey yet inescapable.
