It feels like I have to check the security screw on my Jailbird at least every other day. It keeps coming slightly loose, which gives me that little rattle in the cage. It’s a hassle because it means I have to sheepishly ask for the key just to tighten the cage for a moment and assure everyone I’m not up to no good. I usually cinch it down pretty well, though I worry about stripping the screw threads. I’ve had my JB for around a year now, and everything is wonderful except this issue. I am extremely active, moving all day long, so it seems strange that normal vibration can loosen the screw enough. Any advice on keeping the screw from backing out? Please no silly suggestions like riveting it or using JB Weld; my wife enjoys my parts quite a lot as they are. Is there something simple like a specific cleaning solution I should use?
Cleaning the threads makes a big difference, but try inserting the screw from the other side. Body movement is working it loose in its current direction, so installing it backwards will help keep it tight. Someone else recently mentioned using clear nail polish to secure the screw as well.
Blue Loctite has been suggested in other discussions. "LOCTITE® THREADLOCKER BLUE 242® NUT AND BOLT LOCKER" "Prevents nuts and bolts from accidental loosening. Can be removed with standard hand tools."

Regarding Loctite: There are several varieties now. Be careful not to pick the wrong one...unless you *want* permanent adhesion:o:twisted:
We just clean the screw periodically. A bit of rubbing alcohol removes dirt and body oils from the threads.
I do exactly what Lady M does and haven't had any issues.
I’m using a Queens Keep, but try inserting the screw from the opposite direction. Ours loosens after just a few days when going left to right (from my perspective), but it stays tighter longer when going right to left. The longest we’ve gone without tightening is five weeks so far.
I just gave up on it this week and went back to the padlock. The security screw isn't very secure; I can loosen it by jiggling the cage and then unscrewing it by hand. I even tried the spare screw, tightening it as much as possible, but it was loose again the next day. MM has some ideas for me to try, but I have already sent it back and forth twice. Since I am in the middle of a long-term denial, I don’t want to send it back now. I read all sorts of suggestions, but ultimately I just hand-tighten it as needed, like others do. The issue seems to be putting a flat-head screw into a round post. Very little surface area of the screw head actually contacts the metal because of the curve. You really need to countersink the hole so there is more contact area for the screw. MM was willing to experiment with some fixes, but it would have been trial and error. I am tired of shipping it back and forth. Plus, we are only one month into a long denial period, so now isn't the best time to tinker. The main reason I switched to the Screw was that the padlock had very sharp corners that were cutting my wife during sex. Our plan is to use the screw during sexual activity and then switch back to the padlock afterward. The Screw offers better concealment too; it won’t tear a hole in my underwear, but I can always revert to using the screw when needed.
When I used to use a padlock, it had sharp edges too, but I managed to file them smooth.
So in the end, I cleaned out the threading with rubbing alcohol and a qtip. It was amazing how much grime came out; I assume it was sweet residue and soap buildup. Then I added a tiny drop of clear polish on top after screwing it back on. The screw hasn't budged at all in a week. That means I’m still locked up, and she is currently enjoying all the orgasms.....
Excellent!!!!
My solution was to use a shake-proof washer. gg
