Do they fade away as time goes on? I’m asking whether the penis eventually tires out and stops trying so hard, or at least puts in less effort? I believe this is what causes most of the discomfort when wearing chastity devices, which is why I want to know. I’ve always been puzzled by how our bodies are set up to get erect during sleep. It doesn’t seem like we have any use for it even if we weren’t confined in a cage.

They don't actually fade away; your subconscious just gets accustomed to them. After some time passes, you'll see that the frequency of being woken up by them drops. However, for me they never completely disappeared. About two or three times each month I still wake up from them. It's no big deal now though and I drift back off fairly quickly, actually finding it pleasant.:)

Mine have never gone away. For a period of time, depending on how tight the ring was, I barely noticed them...but recently their strength seems to have *increased* and I get woken up at least twice most nights. Depending on my total sleep hours, I might or might not fall back asleep after that second one- often I just rise and begin my morning routine...making coffee and checking in here...:)

I've discovered that if you lie back as usual but pull your knees up as though doing a crunch and simply relax for a moment it will naturally pass. Putting some Vaseline on also helps quite a bit.

I've noticed I'm dealing with fewer issues regarding nighttime erections lately but that might just be because of my age.;)

I had an...interesting...experience this morning. I was having a completely non-sexual dream when the 'burn' of an erection [attempt] started to intrude. Eventually, I gradually woke up as that burning sensation intensified, coming out of the dream slowly enough that it remains vivid in my memory. As noted earlier, it was non-sexual and yet I felt very aroused. Very peculiar. It leads me to speculate that erections can be a purely physical event, not needing any mental stimulus or eroticism. I used to think that erections required some form of mental input, either conscious or un/sub-conscious erotic thoughts, but now it seems this isn't always the case. Now I'm curious about what triggers them and how. I believe/thought that typically(?) Viagra and Cialis both need a certain amount of mental arousal/erotic thoughts to work properly. My Twisted mind wonders whether a drug could be developed that would cause an erection without any requirement for mental stimulus or eroticism, regardless of whether the subject wanted one or not...

Apparently men experience several erections every single night. They can't all be tied to erotic dreams.

I have to say, mine have never stopped. I am approaching my second year locked and I wake up an average of four or five times per night ... roughly every hour and a half.
