Hello everyone! For the past week or so, while reading Thumper’s blog and a few others I could find online, I’ve solidified my decision to lock myself up. Initially, I felt like an outsider with this idea: as a single gay man in his 50s who has never been partnered—largely because many friends from the ’80s have passed away—I’d avoided most physical connections. Lately, though, that energy seems directed inward. So, while not part of a submissive dynamic, I’ve simply sought greater continence. I’m locking up for my own benefit, independent of anyone else; unless I lose the key, I remain my own Key Holder. Thumper and others suggested an open metal device to help with hygiene, but I had reservations about the ring size. Ultimately, I feel confident in my choice now that I am locked. I purchased a Master Series Repressor. The Repressor includes a flexible urethral plug: my research convinced me that plugging would work well (despite never having been sounded before), whereas metal tubes seemed daunting to me. The one included is flexible, and I must admit it was VERY easy to insert. It has been 24 hours now, and here are some thoughts for anyone considering this first step. Sorry if these notes overlap with other blogs; I only stumbled upon Thumper’s blog half an hour ago! 1. Irritation: Generally, the device isn’t irritating. It is noticeable, but not obstructive. I applied a bit of Diaper Cream under the ring as lubrication since my skin wasn’t quite sure how to react. 2. First Night: Mostly fine. I woke up occasionally, possibly due to having metal between my legs, though more likely because I became self-conscious. Only once, around 4 am, did a nocturnal erection (‘Night Wood’) really bother me—“significantly,” I’d say. The pressure was intense. But otherwise, I’m good. 3. Underwear: This is NOT working out well. Since the Repressor is metal and has some weight, gravity pulls it downward. My shorts were too loose, so switching to a jockstrap made a GREAT difference. 4. Pre-cum and urinating: An unexpected challenge. I seem to be leaking pre-ejaculate constantly. While I expected the urethral tube to help me ‘stream,’ I’ve found that sitting is still necessary for urination, or if standing at the sink, because some urine bypasses the tube opening. Removing everything feels different than just pulling out a willy; simply unzipping might not provide enough room. I often have to unhook my slacks’ waistband to extract the whole device properly. It doesn’t sound like much, but if you urgently need to go, it takes time to set up correctly. 5. Shaving: Usually, I keep things tidy and trim, but this morning I shaved off all pubic hair to avoid pinching. Having fully shaved before isn’t new or strange for me, but shaving with a block of metal in the way is slightly awkward. That wraps up my first day! I plan to continue journaling if you’re interested. Terrex
Since you chose a device with an insert, I assume you've read about the urethral **plug**, but here is some additional advice. First, keep the end capped when not urinating; germs and bacteria can travel up the open tube more easily, increasing the risk of urinary or bladder infections. Secondly, maintain cleanliness. Clean the entire device periodically and definitely ensure the insert itself is clean before reinsertion to avoid bacterial issues. Also, make sure your hands and penis are clean before putting it back in. A warning: don't use saliva as lubricant for inserting the tube (even though you might not do this anyway). Consider using sterile single-dose packets or a bottle of lubricant so you don't accidentally contaminate your supply. Welcome to the forum, and welcome to **chastity**. I hope you enjoy yourself.
> I plan to continue journaling the journey **if you want**. What *we* desire doesn't matter as much. The key is whether *you* wish to maintain a 'journal'. Prolonged posting in 'Journey' threads by people other than the thread owner isn't encouraged. This site isn't one where the goal seems to be pandering to others' prurient interests just to get praise and adulation. If you want to keep a journal, go ahead. If not, no pressure. However, if you do continue, don't expect constant streams of comments on every post. This is generally discouraged so that each member's thread stays relatively free of [stuff].
Well, a full week in **lock** has passed. 1. Today I removed the urethral tube due to all-day leaking and the resulting urine odor. Clearly, in this device, the bulb at the internal end of the insert is too small to block the urethra completely and force liquids through the tube's opening. Also, there is no way to cap the open end. Therefore, leakage occurs both from outside and within the tube. 2. Chafing: I've reached a point where during the day (especially if standing at work) I barely notice the device; even an hour-long walk causes little discomfort. But sitting at my desk can be different! 3. Night Wood: OMG, this can be nearly unbearable. The best method for me is to get up when it gets tough and wash my privates with cold water. Since this works well, I'm not worried that the O-Ring is dangerously tight; blood flows back out quickly enough to reduce the erection. Overall, this has been a learning process! I am glad I managed to wear the device for the full week, except for short intervals to clean up properly. I've ordered another device (plastic) which will be easier for air travel; when it arrives, I hope to dedicate at least one more week to give it a try. My goal isn't to celebrate a victory and release my nuts, but rather to continue blocking the **orgasm**. Honestly, I'm not sure how long 'so long' actually is now; even with just one week of abstinence, I feel like I'm climbing the walls.
