When I ordered my HT, I switched from my previous ring sizes. Which is a good thing, actually. I used the “string” method shown on their site and repeated it three times with consistent results.. The result was 6.75 inches.. which ISN’T EVEN LISTED ON THEIR CHARTS!!! Plus, I wear a 45mm size but find it slightly loose (I might pick up a 40mm instead). I stuck strictly to the directions yet got an out-of-chart result. I even tested with my balls in different states: relaxed versus tight. The outcome was identical!
I suspect either they or you missed a step. By using the string, you've determined the circumference. Rings are sized by diameter instead. Divide that circumference number by *Pi* (3.14) to get the diameter. So, 6.75" of circumference translates to roughly 2 1/8" in diameter, or about 54 mm. Since this value seems a bit large for you, I'd guess either your string wasn't pulled tight enough or you're measuring too close to the body.
