Testing Cage Length Variations

I’m testing a low-cost Chinese chrome-plated cage (it’s too long for my preference) to figure out the right size for a custom order. I put a cut cock cap with a plastic bottle cap end inside the cage before wearing it. By adjusting how much cork is cut off, I can simulate different cage lengths.

So, what’s the shortest length I can use without causing long-term issues? I’ve seen that very short lengths tend to push some erectile tissue back into my body.

Any advice?

Look at MatureMetal's site for measurement details, but here is a quick guide based on my time wearing the JailBird: Measure from where the shaft meets the scrotum underneath up to the tip of your flaccid penis. Do this a few times over several days. Since I'm a "grower," I could use my middle finger as a ruler, which made it super easy; just measure your finger afterward! Ideally, get some plastic or metal rings and find one that slides along the shaft with gentle contact. Measure its inner diameter. If the diameter is correct, an erection won't really start properly. This holds back both length expansion and diameter growth, so there isn't much forward extension. Your current device might be too wide in diameter, allowing your erection to develop (expanding in two directions). With proper measurements, backward expansion is minimal.

My advice and experience match _lj_'s exactly.

Am I right to say that the cage should be fully filled at my smallest size? Not constricting tightly, just comfortably full? Also, do I measure the length from the top base where the penis connects to the body, or from the bottom?

If you are ordering custom, follow that specific manufacturer's instructions and ignore others. For ready-made devices it is somewhat of a guess, but I believe the standard is usually measured from the bottom.
