Thanks to everyone for the wonderful tales. I read them with great interest. Here is my account, leading up to the cycling section at the end.;) As noted in my Hello World Post, I am one of those “over Wankers” and have been doing it since age 11.\nI wanted to quit but always struggled. My wife didn’t see it as cheating either, though obviously she wasn’t aware that I was rubbing him up to five times a day while watching you know what. After the birth of my amazing little kids (4 years old and 18 months) and our baby lying between me and my wife until now, bedroom activity dropped to zero. But what does a wanker do? He doesn’t try to change that - he just wanks… Up to five times per day. I felt empty, grumpy, and nasty with my wife. I didn’t want to be this way; I noticed it but whenever my wife spoke harshly, I would lose my cool. I don’t want that anymore. Since Thursday I have not wanked again, yet I had amazing PIV Sex on Friday morning, Saturday night, Sunday night, and yesterday, feeling much better overall. I know I can’t stop without help, so I was fantasizing about a Holy Trainer and opened up to my wife yesterday. It was an emotional talk where I explained the problem, admitted I wasn’t being fair to her, asked if she felt a difference in recent days, and requested if she would try locking my weener away. We felt very connected and she is on board. So today I ordered a small black Holy Trainer and am waiting with a bit of fear and excitement. Now for the cycling part. Pretty interesting. So I am commuting to work on and off. It has been quite irregular since our holidays in July. My performance is 10% below what it was when i cycled regularly in July. Yesterday, about halfway through (8 out of 16k uphill), I noticed that I was pushing hard without getting tired, so I kept going, and upon arriving home, I wasn’t exhausted but had reached July levels. That’s 10% faster than a week earlier. It seems to me the energy I am not draining is making its way here, though I might be wrong. Anyhow - thanks for all your writings. I really enjoy your posts and hope this journey will succeed.
Five times a day? Where on earth do all you wankers find the time for this?:o Regarding the cycling, I'm curious what kind of device you have and what you're using as a saddle. I can't ride my road bike with just a cock ring, let alone an entire device.

It's a hybrid - more upright. You should be fine. I put a Hobson EZ Seat on mine some years ago, and it was fine for casual riding. Note: Will not work for road cycling.

Saddle comfort is a major issue for me. I've only ridden my road bike (while caged) on my trainer. I'm concerned about being over 25 miles from home and something going wrong with the fitting. However, I have found that raking the seat forward helps relieve much of the saddle stress on the base ring. My current saddle has a 15-degree angle to it, which aids comfort below the waist, but causes other issues with the shoulders and wrists. Does anyone else have suggestions for getting or staying comfortable & safe while in the saddle for hours at a time?

There are many historical topics and tons of good information. While there are some exceptions, it sounds like steel ball trap devices and endurance road riding aren't very compatible. I also have a hybrid bike—but it isn't nearly as sexy as my carbon road bike. (I hate to sound superficial, but when it comes to bikes, sexy is the benchmark!)

Comfort, convenience, or security. You can pick any two. I have a deep cutout saddle on my road bike, but I can't even wear a cock ring, let alone an entire device when riding. Yes, I could tip everything forward, but that's going to strain my wrists if I'm out for more than 20 minutes. > While there are some exceptions, it sounds like steel ball trap devices and endurance road riding are not very compatible. I did find some success with my silicone Birdlocked, but there's no way I'd trust it on a 20, 30, or 50-mile ride. I'm already in danger of chafing just from normal riding. A year or two ago I wrote a blog post about simply taking the damn thing off and exercising. ... restraint/ > After reading chastity oriented groups for over a dozen years, it occurred to me that I don’t remember anyone saying something like “It’s not a life-support system, it’s only a sex toy. Just take the damn thing off for an hour, why don’t you?” And yes, I haven't used the upright bike since getting my Cannondale road bike. Sexy bikes are sexy.
Image this is my next (hybrid) bike - does it lack the sexy?

No more need be said! (Cannondale Synapse 3 with carbon bars, Reynold Attack wheels, and Time Xpresso pedals... Zoom, zoom.)
I must confess I too have a bike problem and struggle with the formula "Number of Bikes Required = (N+1) where N is the Number of Bikes You Own";-)
My personal favorite is a Cannondale Synapse 105 (aluminum alloy). Mostly stock, but I'll be looking for a new saddle next season. And I just got the clipless pedals/shoes last year - after over 30 years of riding toe cages. Only fell twice so far:lol::-)

I call the Synapse my "old man's bike" because of its less aggressive geometry and the S.A.V.E. system that reduces road noise from the seat post. Clipless is the way to go—you can always adjust the release tension so being stuck aboard shouldn't be too big an issue. Back to the original topic, what other activities do you manage without a CD?

I've had them both on long rides in the New England hills and they offer about the same comfort. I recently picked up a nice Selle Italia saddle for the older bike so I'll see how it does on longer trips - I start to get numb after 25 miles with the original saddle.

I didn't think they would add much to my riding, but I have to say that I'm very pleasantly surprised by that extra 15% power / speed I seem to have gained just in the last few months of the season. [quote[Back to the original topic, what other activities do you manage without a CD?[/quote] Pretty much all of them, since Mrs Edge and I have been taking a device break for the past few years. After over 10 years, we needed a change. Right now it's all honor system, but after that long time in a cage, it's much easier to control myself.

There is a remarkable difference in power transfer when switching to clipless pedals and shoes. Watch out for the "sexy" factor though—last year I bought a pair of $300 Diadoras, not because I needed them, but because they were freaky sexy (and comfortable—but mostly just sexy). > member_381064b05f wrote: > Pretty much all of them, since Mrs Edge and I have been taking a device break for the past few years. I don't possess that level of self-control. It's odd because I have great self-control over: food, exercise, tv time, and all other bad habits—except the one in my pants. Maybe 10 years is the key.

Watch out for the "sexy" factor though—last year I bought a pair of $300 Diadoras, not because I needed them, but because they were freaky sexy (and comfortable—but mostly just sexy). The toe cages added more power than flat pedals alone, but stiff-soled shoes and clipped-in mechanics added much more than I would have expected. Now I'm mad at myself for not doing it sooner. I wandered into my LBS when they had an end-of-season sale and tried on some really comfortable Bontragers at a great price drop. Since I already had the pedals, it was a no-brainer. > That is impressive to me... I don't possess that level of self-control. It's odd because I have great self-control over: food, exercise, tv time, and all other bad habits—except the one in my pants. Maybe 10 years is the key. I don't drink excessively. I exercise regularly. I limit myself in most aspects (perhaps excepting internet use), so why would it be so difficult to self-regulate my self-pleasuring? And maybe those years spent in a device have something to do with it, but I also like the idea of getting permission, which helps too.

C2W, it is a nice looking bike, and Specialized makes some top caliber equipment, but the name "hybrid" invokes the image of a Prius or worse, a minivan. While those vehicles indeed have their place—they're just not "sexy." Maybe it just needs a new moniker...
