If spending a couple of hundred dollars is acceptable...

I’d rather have a cage that keeps me from touching it enough to get aroused (mostly), but lets my wife tease me through it. And… I want a base ring with a hinge. After reading so many reviews here and elsewhere about how hard and uncomfortable it is to push your testicles through a solid ring, I believe a hinged base ring is the best option. So, which device comes out on top? Thanks in advance.

With hinged devices, my issue is skin getting pinched between the hinge connection and where it secures. They do use plastic or rubber tubes to fix this, but those often lead to irritation. My first device was a CB2000, which feels like ages ago—back before home computers were common. It had solid rings, and since I have large testicles, finding one that fits over them is tricky; if it does fit, it doesn't stay as tight as I'd like. Then they released the CB3000. The first version of this, unlike later models, featured hinged base rings. This fitted me much tighter, just how I wanted. However, while wearing it, I had pinching issues. The gap was very small—hardly enough room to slide a piece of paper through. It amazed me that skin could slip into such a tiny space. It wasn't painful, but uncomfortable. Another gripe with the hinge was the rivet. It didn't create a huge bulge, but after a few weeks, it became bothersome. It was quite bad; when I switched to a custom device, I ruled out any split rings entirely—it **had** to be solid.

Getting your balls past a solid ring is actually easy once you learn the right method (key tip: one ball at a time, with the penis going through last). On the flip side, almost everywhere people say hinged rings become unbearable after a few hours unless there's some sort of sleeve covering the hinge (or most of the ring to move the edges away from the pressure zone), which somewhat defeats the purpose of metal (mainly: it doesn't stick to the skin like plastic/silicone/rubber do).

Oh yes, that darned rivet really bothers you over time. Alright, assuming we go with a solid base ring (which seems to be the agreement here, and you all know more than I do), what unit should I choose? I’m starting with the one I listed earlier. But if chastity suits me and my wife, and this first unit isn't perfect, I’ll need to upgrade later. Thanks in advance.

Check my post: the archived discussion I didn't realize this thread existed too. TLDR version; Grab a Contender from (MCN) for $250. It has an open design that lets her tease you through it. The plastic devices (except the old original CB2K) don't allow this. You definitely want a solid ring. Period. Full stop. Really. You want all edges as smooth as possible, with good quality welds and no sharp points. MCN fits the bill.

I agree with peter. The contender is definitely the way to go; I couldn't be happier. Also, dealing with them has been very good. robby
