Can a chastity device lead to lasting health issues?

I’m focusing on more than just a chafing sore that lotion can fix or simply removing the device resolves, but rather lasting harm that affects sexual activity or masturbation even if you choose to keep it off forever?

In my opinion, I doubt it. This year has seen me locked more than ever before, usually for extended periods. The longest stretch was three months without a full erection or orgasm. Everything works fine so far, though occasionally achieving hardness takes a bit longer; that might just be due to drinking alcohol. To clarify, I have no formal medical background.

There isn't scientific or medical evidence that really clarifies this. That pretty much wraps up the discussion if we want solid information you can rely on. Even studies regarding ejaculation frequency and prostate health aren't quite relevant here. Based on my own experience since April 2012, the answer is NO! I have been permanently locked starting November 1, 2014. Today marks day 383 completed, and I am in great shape! Yes, I pay close attention to keeping my cage clean (Luckily, I don't need to remove it for cleaning)

Thumper () has been locked for nearly eight years now, I believe, and my husband has been over two... Although there have been no major issues or anything like that. I think the many guys here combined with Thumper's long history of chastity demonstrate that permanent damage is not really a concern. Assuming, of course, that the cage is used correctly and cared for properly. There are certainly ways to mess things up, I'm sure:)

I don't believe the immediate risks are high. Given over twenty years of device sales, there must be plenty out there. We don't hear many credible stories about high risk from using these devices. The topic has been covered in places like Dan Savage's column; while he and his guest doctor commentators won't exactly champion device use, they also admit they aren't fully aware of common injuries or health issues related to them. As others have noted, watch your own body for signs of trouble. Keep in mind that urethral insertion devices likely raise the risk of injury or conditions like urinary tract infections. There are men on this board, including Thumper mentioned above, who have dealt with UTIs.

Oh, I miss the chastity lifestyle. There is still hope for me though. She might agree to it after she gets pregnant. I'm just unsure about the timing of her plans. Anyway, I still have my Jailbird and had a CB6000 before that. Regarding safety, I judge mostly by comfort levels. Personally, while I did worry slightly about long-term damage with the CBSA 6000 (mainly because erections caused pain), I never worried at all about the Jailbird. I haven't sold my Jailbird and still hope to use it again later. Her main concern is whether it will affect my reproductive capabilities.
