Is There Space for Growth?

I’ve gone through many threads here and noticed people disagree on this point. I’m about to buy a custom Contender and could use some guidance. Many users recommend choosing a smaller cage size, one that fits snugly with little extra space for expansion. They claim this is the most comfortable approach. However, others argue that erections need somewhere to go and shouldn’t be completely restricted.

Here’s my specific worry: I’m currently wearing a CB6000S, but it feels loose when flaccid. When I switch to a tighter base ring so the cage doesn’t shift at all, erecting causes discomfort—not in the testicles, but in the penis itself. To fix this, I moved up one ring size and now everything works well. Being hard pushes both the cage and the ring away from my body, creating enough room for expansion while remaining mostly comfortable.

My main question is: if I buy a Contender that fits “correctly” according to standard sizing, will it actually hurt my penis during an erection?

Mine fits perfectly. I looked at the coldest (smallest) option and my standard daily size, then picked a middle ground. For me, that was a quarter-inch difference. My base ring is half an inch larger than the cage itself, leaving a 1/4-inch gap. It stays put during erections without slipping, yet I don't feel like I'm bouncing around in it throughout the day. My setup: MM Pet Trap with a 1 7/8-inch oval base ring and a 1 3/8-inch cage that is 2 1/2 inches long.

Great. So when you get aroused, the cage stays secure and there's no pain? I used to feel it at both the base of my penis and near the head. I wondered if having a half-erection inside was causing that. So what are you saying is that not having any room for growth is largely painless?

I have a Contender and still experience some pain around the base ring due to nighttime erections and teasing, but not in the shaft or head. Those parts bulge out slightly, which is it really. Surprisingly, there's no pain from that area. The section between my testicles and body does swell up, pushing the ring against them, which causes the discomfort. It's all very bearable and much more manageable than with my Chinese-made cages. I doubt any size adjustments would change things for me.

I've been here (and elsewhere) for over five years and can't recall ever hearing anyone say they wish their cage had just a little more length. As I've said before and will repeat, you need to "stifle the stiffy." A half-erection isn't ideal. It's all or nothing. You'll feel some discomfort while aroused, but it should be manageable. I prefer smaller cages as they limit movement and reduce the chance of things getting stuck or pinched. It also makes peeing easier. Regarding erections in a tight cage, I don't feel much actual pain on the penis itself, but it does cause an abdomen soreness similar to "blue balls." I'm considering getting a slightly larger ring to see if that helps alleviate some pressure, but overall, go as small as you can tolerate without pain.

I'm also in a Contender. Mine fits like a glove too. I agree with the other posters; you really don't want any room for growth if you want to stay comfortable at all times.

My experience is very similar to locked4her55 and warwick. With no room for growth, I really enjoy the sensation of having my erection stifled.

Yes, all I feel is pressure when erecting. It feels like a club or sledgehammer [lol], and that's with zero slippage. If your member feels like it's being squeezed in a vice inside the cage, you have too much room. I would go 1/8 to 1/4 inch shorter than your everyday length.

When I sit down, my penis pulls inward toward my body, leaving about a quarter-inch gap between the tip and the end of the cage. But when standing up, it touches the top. Does this mean I should get one shorter, or is what I have good?

You'll be fine. A penis naturally changes size throughout the day anyway. As long as it touches the end when flaccid most of the time, I wouldn't bother with extra expense.
