My KH would like to have my cage unlocked instantly whenever she wants, regardless of our location. She prefers having the key on a necklace, but her neck injury makes wearing one painful and aggravating that condition. Are there other ways to keep the key just as accessible? Could I wear it while using some sort of combo lock so I can’t unlock myself? I’ve considered small combination safes, though even the smallest ones seem quite large.

Other convenient spots might be my wallet, phone case, or keychain since those are usually with me. A setup involving a combination lock plus something like a Steelworxx key safe attached to my keychain could work well, provided it’s compact and unobtrusive.

Why doesn't she just keep it on her keychain? That's exactly where my wife keeps one of our spare keys. robby

That's definitely a possibility I hadn't considered! The main drawback seems to be that her keys are often left out around the house. Usually, when she goes looking for them, I end up being the one who finds them.

Is she okay with it hanging from a leg band?

I'm not sure where Mrs Cage stores her key, but I know she carries it with her constantly. She wears a small key on a necklace we bought during our vacation. That is the real key hers to hold. Let her make the call and don't overthink it. It's really none of your concern.

MrsL has one key on her ring and keeps a second in our bedroom jewelry box. I haven't felt tempted even once to use either of them. She bought me a small lock charm that I wear constantly, and I got her a key charm for a necklace which she now wears everywhere.

Anklet. Just don't get a cheap one; you don't want that clasp snapping and losing the key;)

Hi My lock comes with three keys. One stays with her car and work set. If she's away from home that one is out of reach, and if I happen to touch it while she sleeps there could be big trouble. The other two are laminated: one in her purse and the other in my wallet for extreme emergencies. Trust me though, I wouldn't dare open mine unless I'm unexpectedly headed into surgery. This way we always have a backup, but ultimately she holds the primary key.
