Hello! I’m a new member here. I looked around for similar discussions but didn’t find much. Lately, I’ve been quite interested in chastity and am seriously considering purchasing a CB (cage). In fact, I was leaning towards getting an inexpensive one, which many people seem to advise against. However, since I’m still unsure, I don’t want to spend too much money just yet.
I live alone, so there won’t be a keyholder involved initially. Perhaps I’ll find someone online later, but it’s not crucial because I plan to wear it for hours at home rather than going out with it—at least during the beginning stages.
I’d love to hear what this community suggests for a beginner like me. If possible, please share your first experiences and how you started when single (and without a wife or girlfriend asking for it).
Also, should I choose plastic or silicone? I’ve seen complaints about silicone devices, but I thought they might be better suited for beginners.
Can anyone offer some guidance?
Many of us here (myself included) began with one of the CB series devices. Some have since switched to steel, while others are happy staying with plastic. In my opinion, if you're just testing the waters to see if you'll want more 'wearing time' in the future, I'd suggest trying a knock-off CB. You'll save money, and these cages are very adjustable for size. Just keep in mind that quality can vary; long-term wear might cause some skin issues depending on the product. I haven't personally tried a silicone device, but like you, I've read people expressing dissatisfaction with them. Between the CB6000 and the CB6000s, my recommendation depends on your average flaccid length. Good luck in your search and welcome to the Forum.
I started years ago with the original CB2000. It was a poor device—too painful to wear for extended periods. I then invested in what I believe was called the CB3000; it was much better but too large for me, and the rings were uncomfortable. Next, I upgraded to a CB6000. That was an improvement, though the tube was still slightly big (I'm on the shorter and thinner side down there). So, I bought the 6000s (the short version), which brought another significant improvement. Recently, I purchased the Holy Trainer in the short version, and it is by far the most comfortable one I've worn. I can wear it non-stop for weeks at a time. Good luck with your shopping and your chastity journey—it's truly a path of self-discovery.
I went through a similar progression of devices, except I also tried the curve style that Happywomanajl mentioned. Eventually, I settled on a Mature Metal instead of the Holy Trainer. Generally speaking, a custom device tends to be the one you're happiest with. By the way, happywomanajl, I actually thought the CB2000 was a great device too. I loved its open design much more than that of the 3000s or 6000s. I often wished they would take the base rings from those models and create an open-cage version for the 2000.
Thank you all for your answers. I will consider getting the plastic CB6000s then.
I was locked by LRC... it's been quite some time now... but I remember that the design of the cage piece used to cause my testicles to crunch together when they pulled up tight. My scrotum can get very high and compressed, so pressure has always been my main challenge with all devices. The Holy Trainer seems to resolve this problem satisfactorily. Good luck with your CB6000, and what a great thread. Thanks.
I couldn't remember where it was earlier, but I found it. Try reading Tom's review of that silicone device. ... ck-review/ It's an older review from 2009, but you might find it informative. He compares it directly with the CB series devices.
Thank you. Anyway, I was wondering: is there a thread where people without a keyholder discuss how to tease themselves on their own? For instance, are there specific tasks or types of porn to watch while in chastity?
The average wife or girlfriend usually won't ask you to wear it. On your own, playing with a device is probably similar to the play I experienced 25 years ago with sexy/minimal underwear. Enjoy your solo time! When the right woman comes along who fits both your cock and mindset, go for her!

Like a series of tasks or porn to watch while in chastity? With a bit of creativity, you could make the keys [temporarily] unavailable*** and then watch whatever flavor of porn triggers you. ***(Freezing them in a large block of ice, mailing them back to yourself, leaving them at work or another remote location, taping one under a table/counter/bar at a restaurant or pub, etc. You could even do something different with each key so that if one becomes completely inaccessible later on, you have an alternative. With some imagination, there are endless options. You could even leave the lock open and place the keys anywhere, then return home to put on your device and close it up:twisted: )
Hey there, I'm somewhat new as well. My advice is to skip the CB series altogether. I tried it and found it very bulky, with what felt like 100 parts—it was like building a Lego model. I didn't stick with it long before switching to the Holy Trainer. While HT isn't perfect either, it's more comfortable (though far from completely painless as they claim) and much more discreet because you don't have that padlock dangling out there. With the CB, I was very reluctant to wear it outside the house. It was bulky, and I worried the padlock would eventually wear through my nice underwear or even jeans. With the HT, there's no such worry; it's barely noticeable even under snug pants. I now wear mine to work without any concern at all. I spent quite a lot on two different CBs only to end up discarding them in favor of the HT. So I'd say just make that investment from the start. It might not be your final cage, but in my opinion, it's far superior to the CBs. I'm also in the same boat as you regarding not having a keyholder; everything is self-imposed. I haven't strictly restricted myself using any of the methods described yet (though they are all clever, and the "honor system" works well for me right now). One other idea comes to mind: I'm not sure what these gadgets are called, but there's this kitchen tool for dieters. It looks like a clear plastic box with a lid that locks via a timer; you can set it for up to 10 days. You could always smash the box since it's plastic if needed, though you'd lose about $50 worth of value. Just another thought.
The kitchen gadget item that Limp Biscuit is talking about can be found at
Big D, would you mind taking a look at the pink bit at the top of the page?
Thanks for the advice, but I've already bought the CB and am waiting for it to arrive. I'll try it out and see how it goes. For now, I won't be doing more than several hours or maybe up to a day at most as a beginner. I'm not even sure if I will keep using a device after this attempt, which is why I chose the cheapest option possible. However, I might consider your suggestions for future purchases in case I like it. Actually, right now I want to use it only when I'm home to prevent masturbation (when I'm outside, there's no need). But I do want to play with it as well. So I've been looking for schedules or instructions spanning several days. It doesn't have to be specifically about chastity devices; simple 'no touching' rules work too. For example, yesterday I found a webtease from Milovana called "Chastility Calendar: February." It was very nice, and I might consider using something similar. Does anyone know of other options or how to find them?
Okay, I finally got it, but I'm quite disappointed. It turned out not to fit me well. I was worried about the length, but that part is okay. My main problem is with the ring, largely due to my short scrotum. The first time I put it on, I used a larger ring and the longest spacer. Everything was fine when I wasn't aroused, but it hurt my ballsack, compressing them badly (though I didn't use much lube, which might have been the main reason). Nevertheless, after going limp and staying calm for an hour, I could easily slip off the cage because the ring was too wide. The problem arises when trying smaller rings; they become very uncomfortable as my balls get overly compressed even at rest. When arousal hits, it becomes unbearable. So I guess my scrotum isn't suited to this kind of chastity cage. I'm disappointed since this trial was meant to see if the whole thing interested me without spending too much money. Now I really can't decide (even though I'd lean towards 'no' rather than 'yes'), and it feels like wasted money on something I won't enjoy. Any advice on how to solve my problem with this cheap CB6000s replica? Or, at least, any suggestions for other affordable devices I could consider in the future if I want another chance (keeping my ball issue in mind)?
For what it's worth, your scrotum will stretch quite quickly. What you're experiencing is VERY common. Persist with short periods at first, slowly increasing the locked-up time and working down to smaller ring sizes very gradually. It takes weeks or maybe months for things to settle and feel right. Also, initially, it's so exciting that you get erect just thinking about it, which makes discomfort worse. Plenty of lube helps a lot in the early days!! Keep reading here as there's lots of helpful advice for beginners.
I'll write more about my experience when I get home from work in five hours. But I remember reading a response to a post awhile back that contained a genius idea. Go to Walmart and buy a small combination lock. There is an inexpensive, TSA-approved 3-digit combo lock (one for luggage) that likely fits where the padlock goes on your device. Pick a 3-digit number you'll remember—mine is my area code, something I won't forget. You could set a random 3-digit number (just close your eyes when setting it). With up to 1000 possible combinations, it's not like it would take weeks to figure out. But if you start trying different combos, by the time you crack it, any desire to pleasure yourself will probably be gone. I apologize for any mistakes in this post; this site isn't exactly mobile-friendly on my Galaxy S6. I'll write more later when I get off work at 5 pm Eastern.
I just want to add my thoughts on giving this time the chance to work. When I first put on a device, I had an urgency that suggested I'd remain locked up for weeks at a time. In reality, though, I had to build up tolerance for wearing the cage. Also, when I started all this back in October, my testicles were high and tight too. Two months after putting on my Holy Trainer (which was my fourth attempt at finding an off-the-shelf device that fit—the first successful one), my balls now hang low quite happily. Soon, I'll have to order a new ring one size smaller than the one I started with. That said, my CB6ks knock-off was a disaster; I actually ended up with two short scars on my right testicle that are likely permanent. That damn thing tried to chew my balls off! I've kept it as a novelty item—a 'remember when I wore this piece of junk around my junk' reminder.
