It's surprising to me that this hasn't been purchased yet. Here are my thoughts. Having read about what was done to your device, I had to try on an old-style pink CB3000 which is something I usually avoid wearing now. Your point regarding its fit seems correct; it fits better than the CB6000s do. Even with a short shaft length, there would still be some space between my head and the cage if I were shorter than usual. It felt more like being held tightly by my custom device. Shortening it really helped. I was always positioned at the very end, keeping the slit perfectly lined up. In my view, A.L. Enterprises ought to produce this variant. If you are thinking about buying it but don't have enough for a true custom and find standard CBs too long, give this one a shot.
