'Old' Posts Review

I like going through the older entries found on pages like 107. While I work my way through them, I read backwards by clicking pg 107, then 103, and so forth until I reach where I am now, say, page 96. It’s a bit of an annoyance in the … cage. Whenever I reply to or send a PM to one of the … members on those older pages, it kicks me back out to the main community hub, forcing me to restart that whole process just to get back to pg 96. Is there any way to modify this so we can jump straight to a specific page number? Also, using the backup arrow while bookmarking a page seems to cancel the bookmark. I know you’re on free hosting, which probably means limited room for big changes. I’m really liking the site up until now. Brian

To start with, the site's hosting isn't free; if you look closely, there are no ads or other costs. It simply doesn't cost you anything to use it. My advice is that when you head over to PM from one of these pages, open the link in a new tab. On my Mac using Chrome, I just hold down the command key while clicking. Most browsers let you right-click and choose 'open in new tab', and there's usually a keyboard shortcut for it too. Then you can close that window once your message is sent.

You could also save the page as a favorite. If you're using Windows Explorer; right-click near the top of the window and select "Add to favorites" from the menu. With this approach, you can return to that exact spot even on subsequent days.

The final four digits indicate the page number. On the Hello World topic, here is how you reach page 107: the archived discussion That shows as 1060, not 1070 (which would take you to page 108). However, as others have pointed out, it's much simpler to use Ctrl+Click to open the page in a new tab.
