After looking into it via DuckDuckGo and going through the threads about nighttime erections, I still have questions for those who’ve spent more time with this than I have. Like a few others mentioned, I experience multiple erections each night. They typically start 2-3 hours after I drift off, then become more frequent as the night goes on, dropping in interval from every hour and a half down to roughly every 45 minutes. I’m wondering if this is typical for most folks when they first started wearing something 24/7. I also want to know how long it usually takes before people stop having nighttime erections altogether or until the intensity reduces enough that they aren’t bothersome anymore. About a decade ago, I wore a CB2000 around the clock for roughly 30 days, and I don’t remember the erection problem easing up at all. Now, after just over a week in a Jailbird, I thought a cage that fits snugly without extra space at the tip would help curb them, but apparently not so far. I know this interruption of my sleep won’t last forever, but I’m determined to stick with it. Thanks to everyone who shares their experiences here; the advice has been really useful as we adjust our relationship dynamic.

I don’t remember my erections ever going away completely; it was more that a well-fitted device made them less likely to wake me with pain or discomfort. Yes, for me, shorter cages seem better. Most of the irritation actually comes from skin stretching on my testicles.

Tom, Thanks for your reply. I was hoping a shorter cage would help. After talking with MM, it seems my cage might be about 1/4" too short. Still, like you, I thought a shorter one would be better. The skin stretching is definitely where my discomfort lies as well. I also wonder if the base ring might be slightly tight, which could slow down blood drainage. Guess I need to start making adjustments to find the right fit that reduces nighttime trouble. Does anyone suggest starting by having the ring stretched out a 1/16" or should I try lengthening the cage just a bit?

Stretching the ring would cost less than extending the cage. Even a 1/16" difference could matter. Regarding night time erections, I agree with Tom. I feel my cage fits properly and I still get them, but I usually sleep right through it.

> I feel I have a properly fitted cage and I still get them but usually sleep right through. Same for me. If they do keep me awake, I just go pee and that tends to fix it.

Eventually, only the final one would wake me up, and then I’d stay awake.

Thanks for all the feedback. I had assumed they would subside over time, but it sounds like I just need to refine my fit so that eventually they stop waking me up.

Good question. I ran a poll on this topic in the archived discussion. I have to admit I still struggle with sleep quality after more than 200 nights (though not consecutive).
