Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here. Here’s the problem: I’ve been using a Jailbird for about two years, and despite several attempts to fix it, I keep getting chafing where the ring rests on my left testicle. I’ve experimented with oval rings, round ones, and various sizes. William at MM is just as puzzled as I am. I’ve tried lotions and silicone lube. The best result so far has been a double-ring setup; it lasts about two days before chafing starts. With a single ring, the irritation can set in after just one day. It rarely affects my right side. It doesn’t seem like an allergy since the cage itself causes no other issues. I also have an HT V2 that I can wear for long stretches (if anyone has tips on keeping my penis clean while wearing it, please share). My wife and I really want a Jailbird setup that works 24/7 for extended periods. Does anyone know where to find an anatomical ring compatible with the HT V2 for this device? Any other ideas or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks, SMC.

I've experienced something similar with a patch of skin on my scrotum, regardless of which device or ring size I use. Usually, putting a blister plaster over the sore spot helps it heal and reduces the tenderness.

Process of elimination here—if you're getting chafing with multiple rings, it's probably not a defect in the hardware. Possible causes: - Your clothing might be applying direct pressure. - Something could be coming from your pocket. - It might depend on how you sit, walk, or engage in other activities. For chafing to happen, there has to be pressure or rubbing. Look closely at your clothes, habits, and posture. Try wearing something looser... maybe just wear a robe for two days over the weekend with no underwear, jeans, or anything else underneath, and see if the chafing persists.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give the blister pack a try. I assume you mean a standard bandaid?

Possible international translation nuance? A blister plaster, from my (UK) experience, is a very smooth-surfaced gel with an adhesive backing. The edges taper progressively toward the outer rim, and the whole piece conforms to the skin, featuring a slightly raised center over the affected area. They are primarily used for protecting friction blisters on feet during long-distance walking or running. My understanding of a US 'band-aid' is a woven or flexible tape strip (or shaped patch) with an adhesive outline or ends and a central medicated pad. hope that clarifies things

I love the explanation and appreciate it. I need to get some of these gel plasters and see if they help. I'd also like to know if anyone is manufacturing a stainless steel ring for the Jailbird, similar to what the Holy Trainer uses. Thanks.

In other words, from the viewpoint of someone facing you, would you say the location of the chaffing on the ring is at 2 o'clock, 5 o'clock or...? If it is around 1-2 o'clock, indeed, an angled ring might help by reducing the pinching/pressure when the scrotum skin bunches up in the upper area of the cage. I have fabricated a prototype bent ring (30 degrees, 0.75" radius bend in the middle) for my Watchful Mistress. I may be able to provide you one to try...

The chaffing occurs on the top portion of the left testicle at the 11 o'clock position as viewed from me looking down. So from a person looking at me it would the testicle on the right at the 2 o'clock position. Your prototype sounds interesting.
