Metal Cages and Friction from Clothes

(Some might know I shared this in CM a few days back, though it only got two replies. Hoping to gather more advice from those who’ve been through similar situations) I’ve been wearing my HolyTrainer v3 since starting 24x7 chastity on October 3rd. Overall, the comfort level has been high most of the time. The main irritation happens occasionally when the tip of my cut penis slips slightly out through the end slit and rubs against my clothing while walking — it stings! I’m considering switching to a custom metal cage (the 24x7 routine is working well for me, and my KH seems generally supportive). Hygiene and durability are factors now since the seam on my HTv3 tube has split. I’m testing out a Chinese A272 ( … 11045.html) as an experiment. I’ve noticed the longer front slit makes it easier for my penis to poke through — even though this device is slightly longer than the small tube HTv3 I’ve used (which fit my flaccid state perfectly). I prefer a steel cage rather than just a tube, at least near the opening, for better hygiene. Any suggestions on how to shield the tip? Or do others find that certain custom designs avoid friction and chafing issues with cut penis tips?
My husband has worn an open-style steel cage for six years without any tip problems. It's curved so the end points downward, which prevents it from rubbing against his boxers. Hope this helps.
@Tom Allen Isn't the cage he mentioned the style you wear constantly??
I use the A272 and rarely experience chafing. Could changing underwear help? I prefer a microfiber "pocket" style brief that provides extra room in the pouch.

Hi, another A272 user here. Occasionally, the tip pokes out slightly from the cage end where it rubs my BVDs. I haven't felt any discomfort though. While mentioning this, consider the style with horizontal rings: the A274. ... 30058.html I had significant issues with skin spilling out between the side rings, and movement against my underwear and pants was awful. Miserable and painful due to inevitable pinching.

My wife loves these and they feel wonderful.
I’ve had minimal chafing of the tip, likely thanks to snug, flexible underwear (mostly panties). My Chinese cage had vertical bars at the end and allowed poke-through. The MCN Contender is still quite open but causes less chafing, and tends to cover more on the head than just the tip (I measured it as snug).
I am also in an HTv3. I’ve found that pouch-style men's 'panties' are the most comfortable and offer plenty of room for a caged cock. The only time I notice chafing or discomfort is with some lacey styles, but it’s minimal. Spandex versions hold everything securely and keep things pulled up tight. 10-15% spandex works best, though even 5% does the job.
I have an A272 and a MCN Contender. I solved the rubbing problem with my underwear choice. I use basic Hanes synthetic boxers which feel silky. The Contender cage is lightweight and easier to keep clean, while the A272 feels more intense and suits yoga better.

I’m trying some new underwear suggested by others to see how they help (bikinis with pouches). Just received them; today is my first trial. The rubbing hasn’t been as big an issue since I started this thread. Being a grower, the A272 feels slightly long for me, and most days lately I’ve kept it tucked back into the tube. But let me ask you @Xileh: I have an A272, and am strongly considering getting a custom Contender. Why do you say the A272 is better for yoga?
I occasionally run into this problem with my a271. I use a small piece of cotton ball shoved into the end which works great for long-term wear. Just remember to pull it out before urinating. Usually keep a couple cotton balls and q-tips in my pocket.
