I’m curious if anyone else wears their cage while riding a bike. If you do, what specific hurdles come up? Do you find ways to manage them, or simply take the lock off during your ride?

I cover some substantial distances (up to 700 miles in a single day) and I want to figure out whether my trips will involve staying caged.

Appreciate any insights.

I'm on a Yamaha Virago 1100. It just requires me to adjust my sitting posture slightly.

L&L, it looks like there are quite a few of us here who ride motorcycles. If you type "motorcycle" into the search box in the top right corner, you'll find plenty of relevant info. By the way, I ride an HD Electra Glide and haven't had any trouble. Making sure my base ring was snug but comfortable was key for me; initially, mine was too loose and my little boys kept slipping out.

Like @locked4her55, I ride an Electra Glide (which is set up as a trike). It's no issue for me at all, though I haven't yet done any rides over about 1.5 hours while caged.

I think it really depends on the style of riding you do. Are you cruising on a bike like a cruiser, or are you more aggressive and bent forward like on a sportbike? Also, as someone who has done many 1000-mile days, completely removing my Aerostich suit for bathroom breaks every couple hundred miles would be a royal pain in the neck and waste time.

I ride to and from work several times each month (on an alternating schedule) and for about two hours at a time on some free weekends. I find the main issue is awareness because sitting tends to roll me forward onto my relaxed bits, which sometimes means adjusting things. For the 45-minute commute both ways, everything is usually fine; it's only during longer rides that the feeling becomes more noticeable. However, even then, it isn't discouraging enough to stop me from trying. Now, if there were ever a fall...that would be an interesting experience for reasons beyond just the incident itself!

I ride a Yamaha Maxim 750. No problems at all.

I’ve taken long trips caged and for the most part haven’t had any issues. Just needed to stop occasionally to adjust things. I like to think it keeps me riding safer since I wouldn't want to have to explain a cage to an emergency room doctor! My bike is a Yamaha FJR.

Give it a try, but keep the key on hand (sealed in a signed envelope so your KH can tell if you've used it).

I ride a Honda Shadow Aero with no problems at all. Most of my rides are under 100 miles though.
