Trimming or Shaving Hair?

Alright, I’ve been using the new smaller ring size for two weeks now. It’s nearly ideal. There are still two gripes though. First off, even when I flatten out my scrotum skin, there’s a spot at the very bottom where the skin folds over like a tiny wrinkle. It hurts intensely until I smooth it down again. I’m worried that if I make the ring any bigger, I’ll lose this near-perfect fit. Second is hair. When my device was just a “toy,” hair wasn’t a bother. NOW,, hair matters. It gets caught under the ring and pulls painfully. So I trimmed it back,, which caused bad itching from the short stubble. I’m thinking about shaving the area around the ring entirely. I recall the last time I shaved down there. Vowed never to do that again because the regrowth stubble drove me nuts. What’s your method for keeping hair from being a nuisance? Curious to hear.
I do a bit of both approaches. Typically I shave the area between my butt and balls, while trimming everything else quite close.
i shave and then run an electric shaver over the whole area, including my testicles, every morning. i use a Braun series 9 and rarely get any cuts unless there’s blood very near the surface of my skin. MsM's ld
I leave the hair as is and just apply some 'Tough Hands' skin cream or 'Bag Balm'- yes, that's a *real* product, not originally made for *that* kind of 'bag', but rather for cows' udders...just rubbing a small amount where the ring touches the skin seems to stop those 'fold-overs' and prevent hairs from getting stuck or snagged. It would be kinda 'hot' if Mrs. Twisted were to insist on my being [embarrassingly] hairless down there, but she doesn't care much. If she did, I would use Nair instead of shaving. I experimented with it years ago. It works well, and takes longer [than shaving] for any hair to grow back.

Much easier than shaving.
I shave once every week. It used to be quite itch-y but since I've been doing it since my twenties, it doesn't really bother me anymore.
Shaving works best for me personally, but my owner prefers a trim. So I can shave right where the ring sits if the hair becomes an issue.
I just trim it close enough that she's happy. She doesn't like me fully shaved, so a close trim works for me.
I shave the shaft and scrotum, going just far enough up to leave a clear area where the ring sits. The rest is kept trimmed because Kitten doesn't want me completely bare. I have 2 different Nair formulas I am trying but both are sometimes okay and other times irritate my skin.
I used to shave the balls and around the base of the penis. Kept everything else trimmed as I'm very hairy all over and it would look very strange to be bare down there only. However with the HT2 I've had problems with ingrown hair at the top of the base (where the ring is very snug). So I only trim up there now.
Ok, so it becomes a real thing when the ring fits right. Does anyone else find fold over problems to be a ring size issue or just a part of the adventure?
Damn it. Nair is terrible. I got some nasty chemical burns from that stuff.

Does anyone else find fold over problems to be a ring size issue or just a part of the adventure? Part of the adventure for me too. A little hand cream and some pulling to ensure that nothing is 'folded' mitigates most of it. I still get a 'burning' sensation now and then, usually if it happens it's during the night when unconscious arousal comes on too fast and strong, and I don't wake up before it gets too far.

There is a 'newer' formula available now; the original (I think it was) was not recommended for genital use. Different people have different reactions and tolerances to various chemicals. I dye Mrs. Twisted's hair for her (I do as good a job as a salon, without the high price), and the product information recommends testing to be sure that skin reactions do not occur. Some products warn that reactions may change over time, and what was once tolerable may become intolerable. I used the original Nair formula without issue, despite the warning against genital use.
Thanks, I kinda figured that I wasn't alone with this.
I prefer shorter hair simply because it is neater and when in chastity there are fewer situations where the metal snags something and jerks it out by the root like a weed. Ow! My regime is to shave once every quarter and use a hair trimmer once a month. My wife seems to have no opinion or preference.
Electrolysis well before we started this journey because the stretcher I was wearing previously was no fun to catch hairs in the joints of; now it's just a shaving touch up every now and then, usually when it's off for other reasons, or when there get to be too many to pluck between removals. I can almost get everything shaved with it still on, but there are a few stragglers on the boys now and then that escape the blade. And obviously the shaft is a no go unless removed. I tried hair remover before as well; just make sure not to leave it on too long or you'll know why that warning exists!

My wife does require me to be close shaven (what I can reach) in my pelvic area and "her balls", and yes TM it is 'hot'. Once I didn't do a very good job and she found out. I was subsequently restrained and she pulled out the few long hairs I had missed with tweezers.

Plucking and waxing makes hair last longer and grow back finer with less itching. It is nowhere as painful as you might think. My wife has intimated that once we get the full belt fitted properly, she may use laser removal on my balls, penis and perineum area so there will be little or no issue going forward.
Kind of all over the place with this hair grows back she makes a comment and it goes away . I have shaved, tried the Nair but i really enjoy being tied and waxed . Instant erection and gets stronger as the hair comes out definitely feels smoother longer and the new hair is softer . Leaves me with very submissive and emotional feelings.
I'm told the NoNo device is very effective for hair removal. But only by one person who is female and not a wearer of any Chastity Device. Its not cheap but think of the hours you'd save in the long term not to mention the potential discomfort during that time between growing back and shaving/plucking .....whatever

Leaves me with very submissive and emotional feelings. Funny., My VERY VANILLA wife mentioned a type of body waxing a week ago. I had mentioned that hair was getting to be a bit of a problem. Tugging and such around the ring of my device. She says they do everywhere.. I said "everywhere",? She casually turns to me and says "YUP, everywhere.where ever you want.", I perceive her comment is based on her primary unspoken thought "you wouldn't have that problem if you didn't wear that silly thing all the time". It made me wonder if she would be ok with me going hairless down there, or just on the ring area, if ok we could do it at home,,AND I wonder how I might venture down THAT road ..wife might go for the waxing part but I'll have to do the tying part. (But) she hates seeing me bound or tied in any way and probably would never go for it. So, last night I shaved the ring area..
I've been trimming up top and shaving my balls since my mid 20's. I'm mid 50's now. My wife didn't know I shaved them until 3 months ago. "But you must have noticed when your down there?" "Nope. I never really looked"
I had all my pubic hair removed with laser and electrolysis years ago. A few hairs will grow back and when they do I go back for more electrolysis. I had shaved for years prior to the laser and kept getting ingrown hairs and a rash a day after the shave. Now that never happens. I also had my hair removed from my legs and underarms. I shave the rest of my body. Really it was just the pubic area and underarms that had the ingrown hair and rash problem (before my laser).
I am trying to convince my wife to get an IPL for both of us to use. I like being smooth on my balls and penis as well as between my legs and I think my wife likes it too. I currently pluck and wax, the hair is growing back a bit thinner but would like to just get it gone. My pubic hair above is kept short with clippers If we do get the IPL I hope my wife might want to go a bit further than my current hair removal
"Tessasissy, From what I see, the home-use IPL gadgets aren't very strong for removing pubic hair. They lack sufficient power. If your goal is to have most or all of that area's hair gone for good, visiting a professional spa is really the way to go. I've tried home laser systems like the Silk'n Flash and Go Luxx. It worked wonders on my wife's underarms because she has dark hair there, which laser technicians say responds best to treatment. However, it didn't help her much with pubic hair, nor did it work well for me in either spot. Feel free to send me a private message if you need more info.
I purchased one of these, ... moval.aspx and it has been effective on my pubic region. I basically don't have any dark hairs left there now. It did take a bit longer than the advertised three sessions to really show results, and I still use it about once a month to tidy up any stray dark ones.
I looked at the specs for my silk'n sense IPL. It tops out at just 5J of energy. I discovered that one of the Remington models offers 24J. I ordered one this morning. I plan to test it on the remaining hair on my legs and those few stray pubic hairs that return. I noticed many other Remington versions have around 16J, but I found a specific model with the higher 24J output.
We own a Remington and it actually works... Hubby just needs to get back into using it regularly.
"Lady M" you mentioned getting back to using it. Does that imply the results aren't permanent? Or do these new hairs mean they are fresh growth rather than just regrowth of the same ones like when you shave?
"Locked Husband" - The pubic area is definitely the toughest. A few hairs will pop up every couple of months even though I've had spa laser treatments there at least 25 times. So maintenance is needed, but about 99% of it stays gone permanently. My underarms have never had a stray hair in years and remain completely bare.
I went ahead and got laser removal for my entire body. It wasn't cheap, but my wife loves having me hairless.

Apologies for the late reply. It came to $9k for lifetime treatments covering my whole body. That was roughly half price since they had a special offer.

I shave the scrotum and trim down everything else using a body hair trimmer without any guard attached.
I shave my balls and shaft two or three times weekly. My wife shaves my back, chest, legs, underarms, crack, butt cheeks..... everything below the neck .... a couple of times each week. I've been shaving my balls and shaft for 20 years now. I can't picture life without it anymore. I never get razor bumps or irritation. I use female razors (which feel smoother) along with Caress body bars for lather. One stroke ... rinse the blade. Another stroke .... RINSE THE BLADE!! Do them one at a time, rinsing after each pass. Running over the same spot repeatedly with a clogged razor is a guaranteed way to get lots of ingrown hairs and pimples. Rinse thoroughly in water as hot as you can tolerate. Then let it cool down by switching to cooler water before stepping out. The heat cleanses your pores, while the cold helps close them off before drying.... which aids in preventing razor bumps and irritation.
