Considering your budget and needs, what you have should work great if the length suits you. Anything else will likely cost more and be harder to adjust. The CB series works well for testing out the waters, but expect some trial and error with ring sizes and spacers. I ended up using no spacer at all; the “gap” formed between the larger A-ring and the tube section. I agree with slave d. For the type of dabbling you plan to do, the CB6000s is a solid pick, especially since the kit helps you dial in the ring and gap sizes for a proper fit. However, I’ve owned two CB series devices, and both had their tubes split along the seam. Plus, I've seen many reports (here and elsewhere) of CB tubes splitting. If/when your tube splits, you might want to consider a Holy Trainer v3, which in my experience is a much better device for what you're looking at.

You'll likely face issues with even the genuine CB6000s, whether that's tube splitting or ring tabs breaking. There are plenty of reports about this happening. Many people have successfully used super glue to fix split tubes. There are some knock-off Holy Trainers with good reviews too. I wore a small knock-off HT for a while before switching to the real deal and then the MM Jail Bird. Don't let the solid ring intimidate you. It's not that hard. Pull most of your scrotum through, follow it with one ball, secure that in place, then pull more skin and the other ball through. Try putting it on a few times in the shower first. Unless you get excited, the shaft slides in/out easily once the balls are past. If an erection starts to come up, just wait for it to subside.

You can mimic the solid ring with your CB6000. Assemble the base ring while not wearing it and try putting it on using the method KittensBoyToy mentioned earlier...

If even minor difficulty at the start of trying chastity is enough to discourage you, then perhaps you are “not cut out for wearing a device” as you said. Everyone is different; what works for one person might not work for another. It takes time, patience, and effort to get it right. The issue with the Holy Trainer (whether real or fake) is that it isn't adjustable at all, although you can get different sizes of A-rings and cages. I am currently wearing a CB-3000 that is nearly 20 years old. Sure, the seam has separated twice, but superglue fixed them easily. Two of the hinged rings broke, and I repaired them with JB Weld (looks ugly but works); one of those mended rings just broke again a few days ago in a different spot. It seemed 'expensive' when I bought it, but I've gotten my money's worth out of it—which comes to less than $1/year. When the Mrs. decides to lock me up, it’s usually 24/7 for over 18 months at a time. Right now she has me going about 3 months between releases. Sure, it feels slightly 'clunky', but that's part of the eroticism. I think any time you put a ring around your junk and lock a 'cage' to it, it will feel a bit clunky regardless of brand or type; that’s just how it is—your balls are squeezed together and pushed forward, plus you add the bulk of the cage. It takes some getting used to being 'locked up'. Give it time. Experiment with rings and spacers until you find your sweet spot. The key thing to remember is that your mileage WILL vary. I started with a hinged round ring which was super uncomfortable. Here is my humble opinion. The Cb6000s is perfect for me; I've had it for 2 years. I made these small adjustments: glued the back piece and center pin together, then glued the front piece and spacer together. Added a rubber band around the tube shaft to strengthen it and prevent splitting. I wear a woman’s hair elastic on my hip to keep the device close to my body and avoid "low hanging." It took some weeks trying different spacers and pins, but I found the right combo—it works very well. I wear men’s bikini underwear for good support and concealment; jockstraps feel uncomfortable in my office setting. Bulging won't be an issue, and assembling it should be easier for you too. I dislike solid rings because all the eroticism seems to vanish when struggling with removal. I respect everyone else's opinions though. Best wishes.

I suspect most men have testicles that differ in size and shape much like women's breasts or feet. My right testicle is definitely larger than my left, which causes cage rotation and makes me prone to losing one ball through the gap. I had the same problem with my “high riding” short scrotum. Using snug briefs for over 40 years keeps my junk from hanging low like an “old man’s.” My best combo: 2nd largest ring, shortest pin, and shortest spacer. If you wear an elastic band around your hip to keep the device attached and tight underwear, there will be no bulge and no escapes. I added transparent tape to both sides of the urinary outlet to prevent "turtling" and unpleasant abrasions. Make sure to push your junk well down when sitting to pee to avoid splashing accidents. @Pacman1975 Why not bring the base ring into the shower? You’ll likely feel more relaxed afterward, with your balls hanging lower due to the heat.

I’ve got one stainless steel hinged ring and another is on its way (the first one turned out to be too small). However, plastic or silicone models seem limited because their hinge systems aren’t built for longevity. The open-type CB system feels like the simplest and most foolproof option. Just a thought regarding hinged rings. I don’t have personal experience with them, so this is just a random idea. Someone mentioned that sliding a silicone tube over the hinge works well, though the tube can sometimes slip out of position, leaving the scrotum exposed to the hinge. My suggestion would be covering the hinge with a small piece of shrink tubing. Once heated, it contracts and grips the ring tightly. I’m just wondering if it stays flexible enough for the hinge to operate properly? Another concern is whether it can withstand frequent bending without tearing. Maybe someone who has an extra hinged ring could give it a try and report back.

The shrink tube idea crossed my mind too. However, I was surprised to find that the “fat” hinge joint on my stainless steel device didn’t pinch at all. I had started trying it with the silicone tube over it (mine came with a couple of inches attached), but it felt much too tight. So I tried without it and found no pinching—though perhaps I just got lucky. One potential advantage of the hinged setup is that you can effectively adjust the ring size by adding tubing, even running the tubing all around the ring if needed. They do advertise enclosed rings and make custom items. See whether they’ll work with you. The magic of 3D printing is that as long as they want to produce it, they can create a LOT of variations.

I understand buying cheap Chinese devices if they are original designs. I love my A272; it’s not a knock-off of anything. I did buy a Fort years ago—not the current version, but a clone of the CB3000 in stainless steel. There wasn’t anything like it offered by AJ Enterprises at the time, so I didn’t feel too bad about it. It's difficult in some places, especially for newcomers. Just to offer some perspective. I bought my first CB6000 from a reputable local site that otherwise seemed to be selling original toys (outside of chastity), and then the HTv3 from another site which also appeared to do their own work in toy manufacturing. Both were knock-offs, and I had no idea. They cost about the same as buying directly from the manufacturers when shipping is included. Being inexperienced and lacking knowledge, I just figured they got a wholesale deal and could sell it at the same price or slightly cheaper than importing a single unit. I never even considered that the Chinese would target the sex toy market, or that demand for knock-offs even existed. It was quite a revelation, although in the end, it makes perfect sense. I think the "evil" here are those resellers who "prey" on unsuspecting newbies with gigantic markups—not justifying "the original is too expensive," but rather offering perspective on those who end up badmouthing originals because they got a knock-off. I would have been in the same boat had I not joined this forum and learned more about it. When I did, my plan was to buy an original (most likely an HT) as soon as I was sure of the fit. That changed when I decided to go for steel, but that's a different topic.

Well, at least the HTv4 looks like they solved one of my problems with it (the peeing opening having sharp edges). Good on them for continuing to iterate on the device.

From the pictures it looks like the middle part (between the two "main" rings) might be hard plastic.

You could always try a stainless steel version, but I’m not sure how much of a difference material change will make other than making it heavier and more cumbersome probably. I’ve ended up with an HT3 nub genuine ring combined with a stainless steel knock-off tube because my two original tubes split. So maybe you might find a compromise that way if the knock-off has exactly the same fittings as the original. MsM’s ld

My keyholder has me in a CB-6000. Fit pretty comfortably (for the most part). Light and definitely does the job!
