Severe Burning Sensation Under the Scrotum

So, we’ve experimented with a few different cages and are currently rocking the CB6000. The main issue we’ve run into is this fierce burning feeling right under the scrotum; there’s some folding and creasing involved. We started out bare-skinned, then tried baby powder, and now we’re using baby oil. He says it feels like he chopped up Carolina Reaper peppers and rubbed them on his testicles. It’s sharp pain, not something you can just stroll off. The 40mm rings are too small, the 45mm ones are decent but might be tight if there’s a stray ball, while the 50mm size is too large. The bigger ring tends to rattle down his leg and hits the floor with a loud clank that startles everyone nearby.:roll: We found a spacer that seems to hold his balls steady within the CB unit. We also have another fully metal hinged cage, which produces similar skin reactions. Fixed rings are tricky because we struggle to get both testicles through simultaneously; if we do manage it, positioning the penis becomes difficult. Using ice or having cold hands doesn’t help much right before release. It’s straightforward CBT in a way that none of us particularly enjoys. Since we’re on a tight budget, we can’t afford to guess when purchasing a new cage and need assurance of a good fit. If that burning sensation persists, it will be disappointing.

The website can be confusing, but if you dig around, they offer a set of sizing rings (listed under Misc.) which help pinpoint the right size and have better shape design. If custom fitting is needed, they cooperate well, and I believe their prices are more competitive than other sites. Stick with it.

I use two of their shorter models and have just ordered a stub version. You might be able to find an affordable caliper in any hardware store; mine cost $15 at the local big-box retailer, so perhaps around €20? Also, you can order rings separately, allowing you to test one before committing to buying a full cage.

Many here have more experience than I do, but based on my own trial and error, this is what seems correct to me. First, that burning sensation—for me at least—is caused by the ring pinching the skin of the scrotum because it's too small. For me, a larger ring offers much greater comfort; mine measures 2 inches. Second, regarding the devices I've looked at, the key dimension determining whether the cage stays put is the gap between the cage and the ring. When I first got this 2-inch ring, the gap was nearly 0.75 inches, and to my surprise and dismay, one of the twins slipped out without permission. I reduced that gap to about 3/8 inch, and everything has been fine since.

I seem to experience the same burning feeling. When I wear a larger ring, even with a small gap to prevent ball escape... when I get an erection, it pulls the cage downward and squeezes my balls into the bottom of my sack, causing that burn. With a smaller ring, however, it prevents sliding down and fits much better, though I still feel some burning. I've tried both oval and round rings; for me, oval ones seem to increase the discomfort slightly. My pain tolerance is quite good, so I can hide the ache if I'm not in a position where adjustment is possible right away. Plain hand lotion does soothe the burn temporarily and makes it much more tolerable. For now, I'll stick with the smaller ring and see if my body adapts to it.

This particular burn he gets occurs during general wear, so erections aren't the cause. It happens with ordinary tasks like sitting, standing, and walking. We experimented a bit more last night, and I told him that I don't expect the cage to stay on all night long. I kept the key nearby. We slept through the night as usual, suggesting we may have found our sweet spot regarding spacers and rings. How do you handle foreskin escaping through the front slit? We have both a short tube and a standard one. With the shorter version, his penis touches the front end, whereas with the regular length, it doesn't. He finds that he doesn't bunch up as much in the longer tube and thinks urination is easier there. I find the visual appeal of the half-empty long tube less pleasing compared to the compact short one. Thanks for sharing those links! No foreskin issues for me here unfortunately. I wish there were though. I've read that some men simply pull their foreskin back before entering the cage. Not sure how effective that method is, but keeping it clean would likely be tricky.

There won't be any funny business; I'll supervise or even do the washing myself (which provides a great opportunity for teasing while out of the cage!). Afterward, we rinse with cold water before drying and placing him back in the cage. 😋 We've been using an old baby sock to help pull everything into place when inserting him into the tube, but it also drags the foreskin along. We could try lubricant, though I wonder if it will get quite sticky inside since the CB6000 isn't super breathable.

Well, at least he gets some daily teasing. I'm wearing a stainless steel cage which is easy to clean without removal. So, I've been locked up tightly for 53 days now. I'm unsure about the foreskin situation though. Any kind of lubricant in an enclosed cage seems like asking for bacteria and odors. Someone else who has dealt with similar issues can probably weigh in.

Okay, here is my theory as a cage designer and one of the challenges I've been addressing with variable ring shapes. That burning sensation stems from insufficient surface area within the ring relative to what your sack requires. Men who hang lower will need wider rings because they have more skin that needs spreading out for comfort. If you are tighter, you can manage better with ergonomic or vertical oval rings since they allow testicles to sit in a slightly improved position without suffering from limited surface area. Just my hypothesis and why I am getting people to test it out for me haha.

That makes sense. In my case, I think I have a reasonably sized sack, yet my testicles seem to prefer staying quite tight together. Perhaps I am some strange anomaly or something lol. Even when it's hot and my sack is very relaxed, my nuts don't hang down much. Although a larger ring feels better with less burning, a smaller one helps stop sliding during erections and keeps the cage positioned close to the body. Round rings appear to work best for me, but I've noticed some ergonomic ones are wider sideways than they are long. Other longer models that aren't as wide seem worse. It's hard to find one that doesn't allow escaped balls lol.

I've been doing this for nine years. When I first received my Mature Metal Jail Bird seven years ago, I had a terrible problem with "ball burn," a severe burning sensation on the underside of my scrotum. The JB's gap when it arrived was 3/8 inch. I corresponded with Mistress MM who suggested increasing that gap by just 1/16 inch to 7/16 inches. It didn't seem like much of an increase would make a difference, but I trusted her judgment and sent it back for adjustment. When it returned only one week later, voila! Zero ball burn. Also, being uncut means the stocking trick and similar techniques caused my foreskin to poke out through the front. I hate that occurrence. Nowadays, I pull back my foreskin and carefully guide as much of my penis into the cage as possible. I apply baby oil around the base ring and neck area, rotating the assembly back and forth a few times so any skin that didn't initially enter works its way in. Then I use the handle end of an old toothbrush to coax the glans from its jammed position up toward the top. My cage diameter fits well enough that my foreskin rarely pushes past the glans to cause issues. When it does, I use the back of that same toothbrush to push the penile skin downward toward the base, dragging the foreskin back where it belongs.

I think ball burn is almost always a gap issue. Get a base ring that allows you to slip just your index finger underneath it, and then focus on the gap size. I would start at 3/8 inches and increase from there.
