My journey with a chastity device and its problems

Greetings all, I recently decided to get started with a chastity device. I went for the Dominix stainless steel model. To figure out the ring diameter, I used thread and settled on 1.71 inches. However, when it arrived, it wasn’t working properly. Because the device is heavy, my member was slipping right out—literally falling out. My flaccid length is about 2 inches, so with a circumference of roughly 4.5 inches, this device felt enormous. It looked like a parrot in a wrestling ring made of steel. I tried many times to position it correctly and eventually did. I was worried I had wasted my money without achieving true chastity. Before joining the forum, I saw another user mention a similar problem. Someone suggested it was likely an issue with the ring diameter. So, I bought some rings on eBay; they were cheap and let me experiment (something I should have done initially since the thread method wasn’t very reliable). This time, I picked up a resin mold set that included 2-inch total rings in various sizes. It took quite a while to learn how to push my testicles through. I tried 1.91 and 1.62 inches (still slipping out), then 1.52 (failed too). Then came 1.42, 1.32, and now I’m down to an 1.18-inch ring! After practicing for a few hours, it finally stayed on. It felt tighter this time, but I could still relatively easily slip out when flaccid. I noticed that when I remove the cage from my 0.18-inch mark to check progress, my member shrinks to about half an inch, bunches up, and starts drifting away from the ring. I tried the thread method again visually, and it seems the ideal ring for me would be much smaller than what’s needed just to push through. I’m wondering if this ‘cage method’ isn’t quite right for me. Looking at the numbers, it probably still comes down to diameter, but going below 1.18 inches feels a bit risky. Any suggestions on whether I should abandon the cage approach or try alternatives? Thanks.

An 1.18-inch ring seems... surprisingly small. I don't see how a testicle could pass through such a tiny hole...and I haven't seen many devices on the market with a main ring that small; it's just under 30mm. I feel like something is being lost in translation here, unless you are exceptionally petite. Could you share a photo and/or a link to the specific device you bought? It seems unwise for us to give advice until we're all looking at the same thing.

Yes, something does sound a bit off... I'd love to see the device. Another option might be getting sizing rings from maturemetal. That could help you get an accurate measurement for all the areas that need fitting.

When I bought them, they came with ring diameter descriptions of 36mm, 40mm, 45mm, and 50mm. ... 3594317434 The way this device works is you attach the ring to the unit, insert a lock, and then turn it. Thanks in advance for all your feedback.

@Shogunronin You might be mixing up the metric and inch conversions. The device you linked to is a clone of the Holy Trainer. The internal cage diameter itself is roughly 1.375 inches, or about 35mm. There's no way the cuff ring can be smaller than that inner dimension. However, since the cuff rings are oval-shaped, the website might be listing the smallest possible diameter.

I had to double-check my notes because I mixed them up with another listing. Yes, it is 1.41 inches for the smallest diameter ring that didn't fit. I think I need a smaller diameter ring or perhaps a cage with a smaller inner diameter? Is that like a custom-made service? I wonder if I can get a custom ring fitted for my Dominix. Either way, this is a fun problem-solving process.

After doing some deeper research, I kind of figured out what the real issue was—and it turns out there isn't much wrong at all, other than a ring that is slightly too large. Apparently, traditional chastity relies more on symbolism and mental commitment; anyone can physically slip their member out if they want to. The only thing truly secure are the testicles, unless you have a piercing providing resistance against the penis. It makes sense when I think about it: there needs to be enough resistance to prevent pulling out. If someone has a larger penis, size and gravity provide that hold because my member doesn't slip out when erect. Unfortunately for those with less girth, a focused 'pull-out' motion is easy on almost any device, though staying in might feel more comfortable overall. So really, it was just a shift in mindset. Now knowing this, I think an 1.50-inch ring should be sufficient. Obviously, having the device hang off you after pulling out makes sex difficult, so there's still some reality to keeping it locked down. In the future, I'll look into getting a piercing and a system that offers true physical resistance.

After some training and adjustment over time, you can work down to a smaller main ring—small enough that pull-outs become very difficult, if not impossible. But this doesn't happen immediately; I know because I tried starting there and it didn't go well at all.
