Hinges: What's the joke about them?

I’ve been following long-term denial and want to try steel. Being a high-baller with an asymmetric build, solid rings are hard to put on and keep secure. Hinges do pinch, but I find them more manageable. It’s not much of a risk trying one like this( Do any devices offer adjustable rings? Security isn’t my top priority. I’m picturing something with a zip-tie mechanism — obviously unlockable! Any ideas - Happy Holidays!

For what it's worth, I've been wearing this 24/7 for over six months, using a silicon tube over the hinge to prevent irritation. My early problem was finding a solid ring small enough that stayed secure while still allowing everything through. So now I have one size larger than the smallest version (the tiniest was actually too tight), and it's great; pulling out the back is tough but doable, which is exactly what I needed. Like you, I used to dislike hinges due to past experience, but this model works well. Every hinged cuff ring I've tested has chafed or pinched me, even after sanding and polishing them. But that might just be my personal experience. Eventually, I gave up resisting and stuck with solid rings. I also have high, tight, and asymmetric anatomy. I need a tightly fitting solid ring, so I apply it in the shower when hot, soapy water helps loosen things up slightly.

Unfortunately, I just couldn't locate a solid ring small enough. The smallest one I found was 36mm, which wasn't quite right for me. I suppose I could fit into something smaller with lube and technique, but I haven't spotted it yet. MsM’s ld

I know that there is/was an 'adjustable' one, built on the idea of a handcuff but I think it was a bit large and 'clunky'. I'll be going for a hinge at some point as well. My balls are too big to get through a properly sized solid ring. There is a company that makes locking neck collars that appear to have an excellent hinge design-very smooth looking. I'm wondering if they could be persuaded to branch out into something smaller...

Slipped out of a slightly larger ring so I moved to a smaller ring. The only problem I've had is that it get's a little tight when I'm out walking the dog for too long this winter. To TC, I don't have experience with hinged cages (though I tried hinged ball weights--terrible!), but I will say that my problem of the boys pulling through was solved with my current cage just because the gap is too small. If it's quite cold, they can get a little uncomfortable when pulling up tight, but never truly painful and never pinching.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I notice some cages now come with hinge covers already in place. But I did order the original device as I think it'll be the right size. My wife and I are both looking forward to it!

I'm late to the party, but in case someone else has questions about hinges, I was able to wear this one from Fancy Bondage for over a month without any problem from the hinge, though that may just be me. I haven't tried any other hinged devices (ordinarily wear a MM Queen's Keep). ... age-hbs051

Follow-Up to my original post: I did finally get the device and was able to successfully lock it on. Yay! Overall, it's still a little heavy (though not nearly as unwieldy as my Mike's Spikes) and once on it's reasonably comfortable and enjoyable to wear. It's too big and sticks too far out to be practical under clothing, as my wife noted right away. I can also see why people go for a shorter cage length - though I would want a little more headspace. It really does pinch! After some initial struggles, I got better at putting it on, which helped. I also added some A&D Ointment to the pinch points on the device, and on me, which also helped. But then during wear, there were more awkward moments. The best part about it were the three ring sizes. I struggled to get in the largest at first, but then after 20 minutes it was slipping off. The medium was a better fit, though I could probably benefit from a millimeter or two less. Not sure I can take trying the small ring! So it was worth $18 for the chastity experience and to get a better understanding of my various sizes. I'll try it some more and look out for an upgrade. Amazon says the device is by Romi, but I didn't find any name on the cage or packaging. Thanks, everyone for all the feedback and advice!
