The ball rings on this thing are a pain to deal with. I took them off, sanded the edges smooth, and polished it up—the cage is actually more comfortable than I thought. It’s VERY tight. The bottom part of the cage rounds out smoothly, which sets it apart from those A27# models; you can spot that contoured look in the profile shots. I've always been curious about how effective those ball rings actually are.

I decided to give this design a shot. The idea is intriguing, but the way it's built makes it totally unworkable for me. Since I had doubts about being able to wear it as intended, having to modify it wasn't much of a surprise. This cage doesn't really match up with other styles—especially since there’s no ring connecting the observatory part to the base ring. That gap is where skin gets caught and pinched. The welds here are super smooth, making for a very comfortable base. With my A27# cage (even after rounding it out with the Dremel), I always need lotion because of those sharp "corners". This one won't fit on an A27# base ring, but thanks to the slightly contoured ball ring, it's comfortably passable.
