As you know, many ready-made cages come with a padlock that is basically junk. The hole in the nylon pin used for the padlock can be widened quite a bit to fit a larger one. Has anyone found a high-quality, slightly bigger padlock that works?
Master Lock makes one that fits; it's about the same size but better quality. I've been using the same one for years on end.
Look for TSA padlocks meant for luggage. You can find them that look like traditional brass ones or in different colors and shapes. ... 74&sr=1-28 ... B000HWPJRU

Yeah, I would avoid TSA locks. I screened baggage with them for eight years and all the lock units I dealt with were junk. Even those POS's that come with a generic cage are better lock options than what TSA requires. Eddie
The Abus lock that fits Mature Metal devices is great, provided the plastic pin hole can be enlarged enough to accommodate it.
