I’ve gone through a few Q&A threads and spotted some issues I’d like advice on from those with more experience. I’ve tested four different models, both steel and plastic.

Definitely a grower (expanding from 3” to 7”), which seems to lead to more slippage issues based on what others have said. Because of this growth, I get significant backup erection behind the base ring regardless of the device’s length.

The 45mm base feels most comfortable. The 40mm fits tighter and feels secure, but it slips just as much; plus, I get too much skin gathering at the back of my scrotum, which causes a burning pain during night erections. After three or four nights with the 45mm anatomical shape and using silicone lube on the back, I was able to sleep through.

I managed to wear a very short device for a week. It definitely required cramming in there. Since it had an open metal design, I hoped regular showers would keep things fresh, but when I took it off, there was a noticeable smell. Likely due to not cleaning enough of the skin folds.

As a chiropractor, I need something discreet that isn’t too short given my previous issues. Many models seem to point outward more than downward. I can’t have patients lying on the table with my cage pointed right in their face. Incidental contact does happen, so less prominent devices reduce this risk. Also, non-metal or lighter metal options would be less noticeable upon contact compared to heavy metal ones.

Just getting started, so I’m not looking for a huge investment yet, but willing if this looks like it’ll become long-term play. Open to suggestions on any of the issues you’ve handled.

I am a grower too. I've owned a CB-3000 for about two decades. The original hinged rings broke, and two were modified to be solid with greater surface area at the bottom using JB Weld. They now have an inside diameter of roughly 40mm, resulting in very little slippage. Applying silicone lube twice daily helps prevent 'ball burn,' while some inside the tube keeps me from going 'turtle' (getting stuck) and allows for stand-up urination by ensuring proper alignment—pushing back into the tube if I'm not already at the end. It took a few weeks of training to get comfortable with the 40mm ring, gradually reducing the size so night erections wouldn't wake me up. With my skinny fingers, keeping clean and avoiding odor is easy; I can slide a finger under the ring into the tube to swish things around before rinsing it out in the shower. The 3000 is polycarbonate, making it fairly light. It's not the smallest or largest device, but as far as I know, no one has ever noticed it. The 'backup' behind the ring during erection attempts is just something you adapt to—I actually find it erotic now. The pressure inside reminds me of what I can't do unless my wife permits.

Also a grower, I'm always amazed that everything fits into such a small device. My results are similar to yours... however, I don't get much more than a meager erection unless stimulated somehow. I went with a super-small stainless steel basket style. It works well for bathing and cleaning. With some effort, I can still pull the back out quickly to clean it before putting it back in. To prevent this slipping, my device came with an anti-off ring featuring three moderately sharp spikes. They poke but don't break skin. This ring makes pulling out slightly more difficult. It also included a size 10 catheter that connects and centers everything nicely at the front of the basket. I admit to being hesitant about using both simultaneously because the center spike presses directly against the catheter inside—common sense suggests no. I occasionally get buildup behind the ring, but it fades quickly. Since there's NO room to grow lengthwise and ZERO space for growth around the insides of the basket... not much can happen. Mine fits fairly snugly. I've also been snipped, so my testes don't vary much in size day-to-day or month-to-month, which is a fit problem for many others. So overall, smaller has worked better for me to prevent scrotal stretch and erections almost entirely. I need to downsize the catheter from 10 to something like 6-7; 10 is just too big. Once that happens, the spikes can rest, and having 8-10 inches of catheter inside will prevent pullout completely, making bathroom trips less of a 'sit-down side show!!' Otherwise, being so short without the spiked ring makes pullout easy unless I buy a waist belt to hold the cage close or invent another way to keep someone like me contained. Cleaning and routine inspections are necessary, though it is largely an honor system. And piercing isn't in my picture AT ALL.. Being a semi-short grower definitely comes with its own set of challenges!!
