A Further Inquiry Regarding a Cherry Keeper

Hello all! I’m currently using a Cherry Keeper short cage around the clock with very few problems. She seems content holding onto the key, though she isn’t particularly keen on hardware beyond ensuring it’s as secure as possible without needing a PA. Out of curiosity, I just bought another Cherry Keeper cage, this one featuring both the touchstop and headlock options. I’m wondering if anyone here has used the headlock? Does it actually improve security? Cheers, Curtis.

I picked up the white short cage with the headlock in size medium. For my build, it feels a bit too short; I find myself unable to urinate quite correctly. However, the headlock is quite intriguing and does seem to add security—I certainly feel safer that way. When taking it off, the head tends to catch on the lock mechanism. That said, if the cage were slightly smaller, it might become irritating over time. I actually ordered a larger version (longer length) with a smaller headlock size as well, but it’s still sitting unused in my drawer. This is largely because I’ve grown very fond of my MM Jailbird. It offers such comfort and has the perfect internal diameter and length that I’d rather avoid relearning how to use another device and just stick with the JB for now. I’m eager to hear your thoughts on the headlock.

I was really drawn to the concept of the headlock, but in practice it led to chafing and sores. I also liked the touch stop idea initially, but it significantly worsened odor issues for me (since I prefer leaving the cage on for extended periods). Ultimately, the standard Cherry Keeper has proven to be my best option.

I expected the headlock would keep everything steady, but only when set to its deepest position did it do a good job of that—though deeper settings came with some risk of pain or discomfort.
