Comparing Flat and Circular Bottomed Locks

Which do people lean towards? Would a flatter ring provide slightly better hold compared to one with a round cross-section? I assume the majority favor a curved design rather than a flat one.

The ergonomic style is my favorite. It isn't too slender and feels much more comfortable for me. If you were to look at a cross-section of my shaft, it matches the ring's shape perfectly. I'm not an expert on anatomy here. Perhaps some men have rounder shapes, like sausages, making the circular option better? Additionally, opting for a wider band or even double/triple rings can improve grip, though you would need to adjust the cage length accordingly.

Having altered two of my bands using JB Weld to create a broader profile, I've concluded that increased surface area leads to reduced irritation.

I own both kinds and truthfully can't tell much of a difference between them.
